Meet Matas Petrikas, a music producer, DJ, and book author with a passion for electronic music. Born in Lithuania during the time when it was still a part of the Soviet Union, Matas began experimenting with electronic sounds during his teenage years. Using self-built instruments and recording equipment, he embarked on a journey that would shape his entire career.

In 1991, Matas took a trip to Berlin that would change his life forever. There, he encountered the early years of techno culture, which inspired him immensely. In the early 90s, he co-founded EXEM, one of the first house and techno bands in the former Soviet space. With EXEM, Matas was one of the pioneers of electronic dance music in Lithuania, and by the end of the decade, they had achieved numerous hits with their original tracks and remix productions. They performed live shows ranging from intimate clubs to massive arenas, seeding the seeds of the local electronic music scene.

In 2000, Matas decided to relocate to Berlin, where he began working on internet projects for global brands and government institutions. Despite this career change, electronic music remained an integral part of his life, now from a technological standpoint. From 2008 to 2014, he joined the early SoundCloud team, tapping into his passion for sound and contributing to the platform's development.

After leaving SoundCloud, Matas started his own company, focusing on building sustainable educational toys for children. However, in recent years, he has found his way back to electronic music. Matas has returned as both a producer and DJ, immersing himself in the sounds of techno, electro and house. Additionally, he has also become an author, writing a book titled 'The Joy of Electronic Music,' which delves into the intricacies and delights of music creation.

Germany’s Tom Clark and Canada’s Noah Pred have both individually made quite the mark over the years, Clark founded the infamous Highgrade Records whilst Pred headed up Thoughtless Music as well as releases on the likes of Biotop, Morris / Audio, Alphahouse and Trapez between them. Here though the pair return under their False Image guise for the Tact Recordings imprint, with remixes from the label founders Yard One and Fletcher.‘Schönliner’ leads with a bumpy drum groove, winding dub textures and wandering resonant synth licks resulting in a funk-infused slice of micro house. The second original ‘Willowing’ is up next, retaining a similar aesthetic but upping the energy levels with driving synth swells, stuttering low- end hits and a winding resonant hook.Fletcher’s remix of ‘Schönliner’ follows, taking a more refined approach with heavily swung drums, pops, clicks and pulsating subs at its core whilst stirring in the original’s smooth dub echoes. Yard One’s ‘Reshape’ of ‘Willowing’ closes the package, stripping things back to modulating percussion, the original’s sharp low-end hits and an underlying atmospheric tension throughout.

It’s always great news when Steve Bug and Langenberg get together in the studio - two legends who remain at the top of their game, locking into each other’s groove and delivering some of the most potent electronic music out there. 
Their latest excursion is a case in point. 'Emphasizer' is a mid-paced groover with thick, rounded kicks, sharp percussion and a rich, deep bass that keeps things rolling along. Sparking synths add the spacy melodic flourish. 
'Thierry Moogler' is a slightly more urgent affair that builds from a slowly evolving synth riff before unfolding into a glorious, chugging house groover with an epically worked drop.

It’s a carefully crafted aural masterpiece that you would expect from such as this integral part of the German dance world.

We are super excited to welcome Floyd Lavine to the remix package, we have enjoyed watching his journey and knew he would bring a unique flavour to “What Is Real”. A track known for it’s dreamlike soundscape, now reimagined with essences of the African soul that Lavine advocates. Building rhythms invoke a relentless yet transcendental tribal journey, with the breakdown paying respect to the original; this takes the track to the dust, the forest and the valleys of our world’s most spirited dance floors.

Closing the show is Squire, a Spanish artist much loved on mobilee for his consistently high quality productions and invigorating positive energy. His interpretation of “Haussmann” artfully envisions both 80’s flavours and summer beachfronts with Haussmann’s distinctive elements interweaving through an intriguing blend of instruments.

Mathew Jonson is a phenomenon in electronic music. For nearly 40 years he has forged a sound instantly recognisable on the dance floor – often copied but impossible to imitate. Raw, analogue, and alive, he is a master of real-time performance who shapes drum machines and synthesisers into unforgettable journeys, making every show a one-off experience. From underground clubs to sold-out concert halls and collaborations with orchestras, Jonson’s name guarantees a performance of rare intensity and musicality.

His career took off in the early 2000s with influential releases on Perlon, Kompakt, M_nus, Cocoon, and ITISWHATITIS Recordings, a label where he released his very first record in 2001 and which he later acquired. Anthems like "Marionette" and "Decompression" established him as a producer of rare vision, while his live sets quickly became must-see events, consistently ranked among Resident Advisor’s top acts. During this period he was voted Best International Producer twice in Germany’s Groove Magazine, a testament to his impact on the European techno landscape, and went on to appear on the covers of DJ Mag, Groove, Synmag, and other leading publications. Unlike many, Jonson avoids the use of samples for melodic content, instead writing, performing, mixing and producing everything himself – even contributing his own voice and percussion – giving his music a depth and identity that is entirely his own.

Jonson’s discography spans era-defining singles and albums across labels like Crosstown Rebels and Fabric, where his "Fabric 84" mix captured the spirit of his live sets with unreleased edits and classics performed in real time. His two solo studio albums, "Agents Of Time" (2010, Wagon Repair) and "Her Blurry Pictures" (2013, Crosstown Rebels), expanded his scope even further – balancing intricate dance floor energy with explorations of deeper, more introspective sounds. He is currently working on his third studio album, a collaborative project featuring many artists living in Lisbon, where he now resides. His remix work is equally renowned, covering a wide spectrum of electronic music’s most influential figures. He has reimagined The Chemical Brothers ("Believe", "The Boxer"), Moby ("Slipping Away"), Cybotron ("Clear"), Kevin Saunderson ("Good Life"), Plastikman ("Plastique"), VCMG – Vince Clarke & Martin Gore ("Single Blip"), Goldie ("Redemption"), Josh Wink ("Higher State of Consciousness"), The Martinez Brothers ("No Pop"), Rone ("Nouveau Monde"), Joseph Capriati ("Love Changed Me"), Stephan Bodzin ("Tron"), and Alan Fitzpatrick ("Something Wonderful"), as well as crossover work with Nelly Furtado. These remixes underline his rare ability to bridge underground innovation with mainstream resonance.

He has also expanded beyond the club and festival circuit, collaborating with the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra and performing a sold-out show at the Berlin Philharmonie with Cobblestone Jazz. With that group, Jonson recorded two albums for the iconic !K7 label, further cementing their reputation as one of electronic music’s most respected live acts. Another landmark moment came with "Cinemix": a world premiere performance of a newly composed soundtrack for the silent film "Faust", created live by Jonson alongside Tyger Dhula, Danuel Tate, and Hrdvsion.

Beyond performance, Jonson has continued to innovate. In 2019 he launched Freedom Engine and its debut album "A Box Full Of Magic", followed by the creation of the Freedom Engine Academy – an educational platform built with handpicked mentors to pass on knowledge and foster collaboration. Now preparing to launch its 5th annual edition in 2026, the Academy has become a vital space for nurturing the next generation of electronic musicians.

Now, 25 years since his debut "New Identity" and nearly 40 years since first making electronic music, Jonson is preparing to celebrate a milestone anniversary in his career. Represented in Europe by LittleBig, his current projects include Freedom Engine, his collaboration with Âme, and his ongoing solo work as Mathew Jonson. A pioneer, a mentor, and an artist in constant motion, Mathew Jonson continues to shape the future of electronic music with every performance and release.
