Volume 3 of the VA Kuukou compilation aptly entitled Passengers brings together a sexted of label alums as well as fresh faces each bringing their unique production flair into one original track. The tracks make for an exhaustive arsenal of club weapons for different times of the set, like floor up-warmers Apriori, with its syncopated melody or Heinerich and Heine’s playfully groovy L’amnésie. There’s also a share of powerful roof raisers, from JOANiSH’s punchy The Great Hike to Italian producer and electronic music platform head Barbur’s straightforward techno number Its Berlin or Jägerhertz’ relentlessly elevating No Way Out. Rounding off the release in a rhythm-heavy, glitched-out fashion there’s Tomiac’s tonic Transposition.

This is AlBird speaking for your Ballroom Records Radioshow, Episode number 285 this time with a lot of Techno inside!

Guestmix in the second hour comes from one of our new Ballroom family members Speed Mode all the way from Russia who recently had their premier release on Ballroom Black called “Revolution” including remixes by Danny Wabbit and Monococ!

First things first: what’s in this one for the first hour?
Kaiser Souzai has an upcoming release on Codex Recordings called Bantei and it’ll be out on the 7th of August.

AlBird’s got a couple of remixes out there at the moment…one for Rebeca Ark on the track ‘Black’ on Ballroom Black, 2nd one on Grace Thompson on her track Memphis on Airborne Black and latest one for Berlin based Katzenjammer Rec. for .mobit on his track ‘Phangan’.

Latest track on Ballroom Black is Kay Barton’s ‘Drug Thing’ including a thunderous remix by Dominik Vaillant!

Hatzler knows the dancefloor intimately. The Hamburg-based DJ and producer starting out collecting records and producing his own cassette tape edits. He got his first break with André Winter as Motion Unit, releasing various records for Oliver Huntemann’s renowned Confused Recordings. Hatzler’s musical influences are vast, ranging from early electro-funk and ‘90s experimental techno via Warp and Detroit, through to the multifarious strains of house and techno of present today. 

All these influences are present in Hatzler’s own productions, which have been steadily mounting over the years. His trademark use of rhythmical chords permeate a rich catalogue of artist EPs for labels like Senso Sounds and Stil vor Talent. He’s also an in demand remixer, famed for reworking Oliver Koletzki’s “Iyéwaye” and Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann’s “Humano”, in addition to others for the likes of Set About and Suara. In 2016 Hatzler was nominated best techno artist in Beatport’s DJ-voted end of year polls. It’s a testament to his sway in the dance music community. As a DJ Hatzler brings his extensive knowledge and experience to the booth, delivering deep and excursive sessions that will keep you glued to the floor for the duration—be it at sunrise at an outdoor festival, or locked into the perpetual nighttime of clubland.
