Following the albums "Lessons In Dub" (2012) and "Kontrollverlust" (2017) Leipzig based DJ and producer Marc DePulse now presents his 3rd artist album: Together Alone

The album title reflects the global sentiments surrounding the last two years while being confined indoors. It plays with the opposites of togetherness and aloneness. Being socially distanced during lockdown at home while all together stuck in the same situation individual aloneness was experienced as a collectively felt togetherness.

Therefore the idea behind Together Alone was engaging highly respected artists and friends from all over the planet for a collaborative project which Marc DePulse describes as "a colored box full of high-quality standards and with a lot of great stories inside".

Woven between the intro "Allein" (eng. alone) and the outro "Zusammen" (eng. together) the album captures stories of collectively felt emotions elicited by the pandemic.

The 13 tracks by 12 different artists highlight that despite all hardships we are never alone. This phenomena is represented by track 8 called ZIMWA, derived from the German sentence "Zusammen ist man weniger allein" (eng. Together you are less alone).

For the collaborative LP the artists got virtually together into the studio with Marc DePulse, exchanging stems, sharing parts, making video calls, chatting – simply doing things that were possible during the lockdown period.

Together Alone contains music from club to Easy Listening, from EBM to Breaks, from Pop to Tech – music to remember and heartfelt messages that will not be forgotten so fast.

Marc DePulse & Allies for Everyone - "Automation" (Extended Mix)

Our first original artist Ep of ´23 comes from Argentinean super talent @ditian, known for his output on labels like Innervisions and Exit Strategy among others. He delivers two dark yet emotionally charged rollers ready to melt your brain on the dancefloor. Ditian himself says this EP is about „bittersweet bursts of lucid images in our memory“, and you can really feel that on the first track „Strange Pleasure“. Beautiful tear-jerking melodies alternate and co-exist with more abstract sounds and create this unique mood hard to put into words, but amazing to experience. „Foxia“ is the darker, more dystopian one of the two, with its dissonant lead sounds and drony bass layers. Yet also here the production has a certain warmth to it, that might keep you from abandoning all hope. Or, as Ditian puts it, finding „pleasure in those things that when we remember them, strangely reward us in various ways, moments that have been recorded with an admirable fidelity. Almost exactly three years after NR&, a project uniting &ME’s and Rampa’s production with the voice of New York Disco-House-siren Nomi, dropped their debut EP, we finally can announce a new chapter in this ongoing transatlantic menage. This very “Spoken For” EP is comprised of two new tracks, that again fuse songwriting with floor-demands and showcase the same crackling and pulse quickening passion that instantly has become NR&’s trademark. So here’s the evidence – a long distance relationship is not necessarily doomed to get boring after a while.

“Taste Like” on A might be conceived as the club-affair of those two new joints. A tune indulging in self-control, extending the pre- eruptive moment of excitement to track length. There is Nomi’s unmistakeable sexed up oration, flanked by an affirmative thunderstorm of claps, then a bass heavy bridge, overflowing into a noise brushed finale. Altogether a tasty flavour carrier for an effective floor heating.
“Spoken For” is not only the title track, but also the hymn coming out of the flipside ambush. There is no kick necessary to underpin what Nomi’s charismatic croon is laying down. Therefore a wise choice to let the arrangement of interspersed field recordings, percussive details and piano- and synth-decoration exercise in unobtrusiveness. Safe to say, this tune will refine many future peaktimes anyway.

Canadian label My Favorite Robot Records looks across the pond to Italy for one of its early 2016 EPs.
The act behind the three excellent track release is Speaking Minds, a duo that released on the label back in 2014 and have also put out music on Aeon Records. Simone Sinatti and Marco Paladin have very quickly won fans and acclaim around the world with their inspired and passionate DJ sets and artful take on club music. Here they prove that once more with richly crafted synths and expansive grooves aplenty.
The perfectly seductive 'Marathon' opens up the EP with the sort of moods and groove that would be perfect for a long late night drive. Neon synth lines snake along above a rooted rubber groove and grow more wild as thing unfold. It is the sort of hypnotic offering that really takes command of a dancefloor and never lets up.
A dub mix of the same cut is even more driven, some of the synth drones are stripped back and it is a more cerebral, spaced out techno roller as a result.
The third offering, 'The Last Step,' is another deep space affair with gorgeously designed pads circling round a spacious groove. It is a vast and atmospheric track that really transports you to another galaxy far, far way with its rainy melodies, moody drum kicks and arcing sense of narrative.
This is spine tingling, sensitive music that is epic and emotive in all the right ways.
