Since the start of our SMTH SNDS adventure we've always been big fans of edits, remixes & flips of 90s, 00s and current r&b and hip hop songs so we dediced to launch a new mix series dubbed 'FLIPMODE' dedicated to the finest flips out there.

For the 18th installment of the FLIPMODE-series, we invited emerging Leuven-based producer and DJ @Hygra to take over the decks. Enjoy!

This is a Bay Area hip-hop/rap mix. Most hip-hop in the Bay Area is known as Hyphy, a style of uptempo hip-hop music originating in northern California and associated with a frenetic style of dancing. I am trying to show people authentic and original Bay Area sounds and tracks by artists who are and were well-known and admired in that region. I am a Bay Area native and I put a lot of heart and effort into this mix. I grew up listening to these songs and many of these songs became Bay Area anthems. I hope this mix transports you to San Francisco or San Jose, California. Enjoy!
