Until now, David Mayer needs to be on every radar as a young producer, breathing new life into classic Techno-virtues. Within his productions it seems to be the men-machine pulling the strings. They are grooving through plant floors, they are pumping blood into boilers and with just subtle manoeuvres, they are altering the soil temperature from stonecold to sweat inducing, depending on the current requirements.
Mayers new offering is directly taking on those qualities, while entitling it “Celsius”. It is indeed glowing floormaterial. It’s taking a rampant Techhouse-beat into a well heated Techno-basement, to add more and more condensing arrangements and finally open up for the instantly catching synth-hook. While he’s at it, Mayer controls a whole lot of scenes on the side. What he is offering here as particular finetunings and detailed soundmanipulations might lead into hourlong journeys under headphones. At the same time, the floor-efficiency of this tune couldn’t be more in your face. 
Then there’s the synth-tool on the flipside, leaving the kickdrum’s thickness behind, opening the door a bit more into the crystal clear synth-arrangements. Without a doubt, it’ll equip you with a tool, that’s letting the crowd feel save in the believe of having a little breather, to finally cook them in their own excitement in almost no time.


David Mayer - Celsius (Extract)

'Rise Of Angel' is the brand new single from Luciano, and the first single to be taken from his forthcoming album, due in 2013.  However, for the many thousands of dedicated music fans who have made the pilgrimage to Luciano's hugely successful parties this Summer in Ibiza (the weekly Ushuaia sessions and Vagabundos at Pacha), or the many Cadenza parties around Europe and North America, 'Rise Of Angel' has already become the signature tune and musical hi-light in Luciano's sets, making its release a highly anticipated moment for the Cadenza faithful.

Clocking in at over 15 minutes, 'Rise Of Angel' is an epic slice of modern electronic dance music, the simply Balearic, synth and piano driven hook gently builds and teases with cinematic intent, the light percussion and organic beats working the old Luciano magic, it's no wonder that 'Rise Of Angel' has become one of the most talked about tracks of the Ibiza season this year.

For the remixes, Luciano has kept it in the family, enlisting the duties of fellow Cadenza artists Mirko Loko, UNER and Andrea Oliva to all lend their unique production styles to a solid set of reinterpretations.  The vinyl 12" is coupled with Mirko Loko's pulsating robotic workout, adding a more beats driven take on Luciano's original, and delving into the bass for a heavyweight techno flecked remix.

And bolstering the digital package, UNER weighs in with a dubbed out, rolling drum version, using the vocal FX to support the groove whilst the pianos ride over the mix, and Andrea Oliva goes straight for the 4/4 jugular with a remix that builds solid tribal beats to a crescendo, adding a new dimension to the Original with a choice vocal section.

'Rise Of Angel' will be Luciano's first release on his own Cadenza label since 2010's Lucien-N-Luciano's 'Cuidad De Luz' EP, and marks the start of another big chapter in his career, having spent the last couple of years building a passionate audience through hundreds of DJ performances around the world, the Vagabundos events and collaborating musically with artists such as Pharrrell (Neptunes) and Lenny Kravitz.  His forthcoming album will be his second full length collection (following 2009's ‘Tribute To The Sun’), and his label, Cadenza Records, will celebrate its 10th anniversary, so the future certainly looks bright for the Chilean producer and DJ.

Co director and weekly resident of WetYourSelf! at fabric, Jacob Husley returns to the label with his latest collection of work, the 'Close Your Eyes' ep. His last release for the label, 'I Got Sunshine', was a favourite for many and featured an array of impressive and exotic remixes from Chloe, Sian and Dexter Kane. 

The 'Close Your Eyes' ep sees Jacob flying solo as he presents four brand new tracks, displaying his trademark sound of spooky house and twisted techno. Lead cut 'La Cote Obscur' bathes us in waves of cool synths and its seductive accompanying vocal, from The French Edge, leads us through this mysterious region. The stripped and sparse title track matches a minimal beat pattern with its whispered vocal, "Dance like there's nobody's watching you". Perfect direction for this groovy techno workout. 

On the flip we are greeted by the marching kick drum of 'Here Today, Gone Tomorrow.' The regimental analog bass pounding is countered by its cascading keys and another of Jacob's spoken vocal top lines. One for the systems. The release is rounded out by the expansive and atmospheric 'Realise', again featuring vocals from Jacob himself. A track thats early intimacy belies its final drum-driven finale.
