I FINALLY got my "digital" copy of Tony Oxley's seminal record "February Papers" to play today. I got it on some blog years ago. I still have my vinyl copy but little access to my turntable. This is one of the best recordings of free improvisation ever released. Here's the track "Brushes" just to prove a point. For solo percussion and electronics, 1977. Essential listening.

MATILDA ROLFSSON 
Is a  strong voice of the young garde of free-improvising musicians in Scandinavia. She is somehow freely schooled from her jazz studies at the Music Conservatoire in Trondheim, Jazzlinja, where she developed her distinguee style of improvising freely on her bass drum. Together with musicians or with dancers Matilda is frequently exploring the instant-compositions in the moment, dynamics, orchestrations, materials, structure and chaos, to make rules and break rules, always with the question: where is the music going, and where´s the freedom?.
