This explores (or tries to) the profound realization that life's most significant, say, cosmic, journeys are internal rather than external. Set beneath a harvest moon—a symbol of completion and reflection—a narrator describes traveling through “ten worlds” without physically moving at all. The metaphor suggests that transformation and growth happen within the landscape of the heart and mind, not through geographical distance.
The lyrics convey a sense of retrospective awakening. The narrator was “blind” to the inner distance they had already covered, mistaking emotional and spiritual evolution for something that should have left visible tracks or footprints.
