matphilly and SUBshockers have officially launched a season of songs that will be consuming their focus for the next few weeks. “All I'm Missing In This...It Makes Me Numb,” is the first release off of what will be a 5-song EP titled AMP.

AMP EP is a deeply personal project to matphilly. It began as 1 song written about his brother who tragically passed away in July 2020. When the first song was laid out, the idea expanded more into an EP focusing on his brother in the eyes of matphilly and those who were closest to his late brother. AMP is his brothers initials and the EP acts as a legacy, fueling the mission of matphilly to spread his musicianship far and wide and performing more live beyond just DJing.

This first single kicks off the experience with power and momentum. Showcasing colorful chord progressions, epic atmospheres, and sound design themes that grip the attention of the throughout its entirety. There’s plenty of surprises found within, from small breaks in the tension filled by gentle piano chords, to ultra-vivid riddim drops with intense technicality at the forefront. 

This collaborative project between matphilly and SUBshockers was simply meant to be. The single symbolizes their ability to merge the most unique aspects of both styles to bring about a sonic exquisiteness that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

More singles are to come and the AMP EP will top off what has been a treasured and memorable collaboration between 3 talented electronic musicians.

I went to a party and met Snoop Dogg. I talked to him so much while he was smokin his weed to the max about the 90's G-Funk era and at one point he said, "Someone needs to bring that back, Nephew." So I went home and wrote this and put it out on one of my favorite record labels. Been a dream to have this out and now you can have it FOR FREE!

I've always wanted to play this and some other songs in my sets, but since the quality is so different, it's hard if there's no remastered version so I just decided to make a Rework to play out. I also wanted to give this out as a free download because it's a fun tune.

Some olf edits and mashups are pretty crappy cause I was still learning but whatever. These are for all of you guys to use in your own sets or just to jam.
