A mashup of the songs Megalomania and Megalovania.

Megalomania is a song created by Yōko Shimomura for the 1994 Super Famicom game Live A Live. It never received an official English release, but there is an excellent fan translation available here: http://agtp.romhack.net/project.php?id=lal

Megalovania is a song written by Toby Fox. The version used in this video is the mix from the 2015 PC game Undertale. You can buy it here: http://undertale.com/

Toby has said that Megalomania is the inspiration for Megalovania. Be that as it may, you can't generally layer two songs that have melodies and expect it to work out. Space Jam mixes with everything because it doesn't have a melody.

What I've done instead is have the two songs take turns, with the other playing quietly in the background. There's a few awkward transitions, but the whole thing works out all right.

The version of Megalomania I used is the instrumental version from the album "Memória!" Trust me, the decision not to use the version with vocals was the correct one. The singing is... not so good.

I also tried this with the original Super Nintendo version of Megalomania, because there's a few things I don't like about the Memória version. The instrument playing the melody is pretty weak (probably so that the vocals can easily cover it), and the pipe organ is barely audible. I love this track and I was underwhelmed by this version of it. Unfortunately, the SNES version just didn't work out as well. The instrumentation is just too different and they don't mesh at all.

Since The 8-Bit Guy sort of challenged me to come up with something on the B. Meowsic keyboard he reviewed here (https://tinyurl.com/y94cuwks), I had to respond (as I don't know when I'll be able to make another visit to the US this year). So here it is, The B. Meowsic Keyboard Song.

The keyboard itself is practically impossible to play on (without spending ages on getting every take right) so I took the liberty to sample the sounds from the keyboard and allow some light processing (layering sounds, lowpass filter to create some  bass sounds, compression and effects (delay, chorus and reverb)). The drum loops were slowed down as much as possible, then I sampled what I could of the separate drums being played. Unfortunately there were no separate crash cymbals, and the entire keyboard operates close to 22.05 KHz so the entire sound palette is a little muffled, but hopefully it sounds nice nonetheless. :)
