This one comes from our very own CEO and Founder - Matt Gilpin, here's what he had to say......

"Music IS the answer…

I’m very proud to launch the Sprift Soundcast, which I hope that you’ll enjoy now and in the weeks and months to come.  We wanted to ‘do something a bit different’ – as is very much the mindset here! – but that offered our colleagues, friends and connections in the industry something that was completely away from what we do day-to-day as a business, wasn’t ‘salesy’ or a webinar or podcast (of which there are some great examples out there already) but instead something that really expresses the culture that we’ve created which is so special and shares a bit of what makes us tick as individuals.

We’re very fortunate to have a number of ex-professional DJs in our ranks – including, although I say it with some degree of reservation, myself! - along with some incredibly talented musicians, as well as some serious music lovers who are serial giggers and festival fans.

So much so, it occurred to me one day that the ‘golden thread’ we all have in common here at Sprift is a love of music; my own experience is that I DJ’d professionally for many years in my twenties and early thirties, gracing the ‘wheels of steel’ at many of the UK’s raves, clubs and further afield in Ibiza and the USA.

Music forms a part of my day, every day in some way, even now.In the wider context, nothing uplifts and motivates all of us quite like music, be it the tune that pumps you up for the gym, the soundtrack you select for focusing on work, what you listen to when chilling out away from the office or the belters that rev you up for a great night out.

The property industry has more driven, motivated and ambitious people than any other which got us thinking… why not bring together the DJ expertise from the Sprift team and release a weekly mix to uplift and motivate our industry and beyond, with a wide range of mixes to form the soundtrack to your day from a wide range of musical genres? And so the idea for the Sprift Soundcast was born.

It’s Friday…and we’re back with another Sprift Soundcast 🎧 🔉 📻

This week, our Louisa Fletcher has stepped up to learn the decks over the last two months and has served us up with her first ever session, packed with quality tuneage to power your weekend.  

Prior to her career in the property and proptech industry, Louisa was a classically trained clarinettist, having sat her grades at secondary school, at one point playing with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.  Then in her teens, she discovered two things in quick succession…heavy metal and playing the drums, which led to her gigging with a working rock band across the South Coast and London for the next few years, until she got ‘a proper job’ when she started her technology career in the mid-nineties.  Moving to London in her twenties, Lou quickly discovered the club scene and developed a love for dance music, which only grew over the next two decades as a frequent visitor to ‘the white isle’ where she was bitten by the Ibiza bug. 

Lou says that she was inspired to how to DJ after working with Matt Gilpin, Alex Somers and Jamie Craddock on the Soundcast, having always thought it was something she wanted to do but had never ‘managed to get round to it’.   We say, better late than never! 

For Lou’s first session, she’s blended a mix of vintage classics with a new twist, a clutch of fresh new tunes with a dash of funk and deep house thrown in for good measure.
