Classics mix for Quivver

1994 – Matt’s first love for house music began in 94 at the age of 15 after stumbling across John Digweed’s Journeys by DJ’s mix-tape. It was this discovery that led to him to buy his first pair of turntables and also began his love affair with Progressive House. After spending many an evening locked in his bedroom, and a few days bunked off school, Matt plucked up the courage to send off a few mix tapes. It was a tape sent to the promoter of a local club, which gave him his first residency at the age of 16. It was during this residency Matt was able to spin alongside the likes of Paul Taylor (Retro), Buckley (Tall Trees), FC Kahuna and Renaissance legend Ian Ossia. Following a move to Preston Matt then launched his own night ‘Transmission’ every fortnight giving him the chance to play the music he loved to an appreciative crowd. 2009 – Saw Matt come runner up in IDJ Mag’s Raw Talent Competition with his mix receiving rave reviews from Way out West’s Jody Wisternoff, Riva Starr and Deepgroove. ‘A slick, well selected mix with a progressive slant…. A solid package’ (IDJ Mag – ‘Raw Talent’) 2010 – Michael Wilson, one half of Progressive house Legends ‘Parks & Wilson’, featured one of Matt’s mixes in his Tech section in the June edition of DJ mag. 2012 – Fast forward to Now…..Matt Currently DJ’s for Tolerance, Finale , Dope Disco and Electronic Sessions, with the latter seeing him DJ alongside Bedrock favourite Guy J, Renaissance legend Hernan Cattaneo, Danny Howells, M.A.N.D.Y, Anil Chawla and some geezer called Sasha!! In addition Matt hosts his monthly Transmission mix show with monthly special guests on Greek radio stations Generate & Lightwave Radio.

:: DODGE MUSIC (JAMES SHIPWRIGHT'S) ROOTS IN MUSIC ARE BASED ON AN ECLECTIC POOL OF GENRES & SINCE A VERY YOUNG AGE BEGAN LISTENING TO EVERYTHING FROM ALTERNATIVE PUNK, HARDCORE, SYNTHPOP, & METAL- HIS FIRST INSTRUMENT WAS LEARNING TO PLAY THE GUITAR. 
In the early 90's his world would change as he immersed himself in the emerging rave scene in the North of England and the new breed of underground electronic music that was being produced in the UK, Europe & the U.S. Dodge was hugely influenced by DJ's like Sasha & John Digweed especially as the music matured and began to take the form of the early progressive house coming from pioneering labels such as Willaim Orbit's Guerilla Records.
