The first Eternal Horizons of 2025 kicks off with a lush mix of Anjunabeats classics, mixed seamlessly by rising DJ: James Hogg. James has gained popularity through his solid SoundCloud mixes ranging in styles from 90s breakbeat and acid house influences to main room hands in the air trance anthems. James also plans to head into the realms of production in 2025 so keep an ear out for future tracks from him. 

The second half of the show is my first mix for 2025, once again up to my usual tricks, subverting the trance scene with an eclectic selection of deep thumping hypnotic trance.

Fragile Orbit is a more stripped-back progressive trance track that leans into experimental territory. Driven by layered arpeggios, squelchy acids and subtle rhythmic textures, it avoids the usual big breakdown, instead keeping a steady, evolving flow. The arrangement is minimal but focused, offering a deep, atmospheric groove that works both in warm-up sets and more introspective moments.

As the sun drops below the horizon, the atmosphere begins to build with anticipation. A hypnotic melody threads through the dusk, inviting you in — shimmering, entrancing, and infused with a touch of nostalgia. Distorted acid stabs flicker like fading sunlight, while chunky percussion pulses steadily, building a rhythmic tension. As the waves break, a lush, emotive pluck emerges, both uplifting and melancholic - the sound of Okinawa.

Infinite Element is a deep, driving progressive trance track built on a foundation of metallic bass and crisp, driving percussion. Drawing inspiration from the classic Bonzai Records sound, it blends emotional depth with a focused, tech-influenced energy. Classic trance synths rise and fall, creating a sense of momentum and introspection.

Stellar Echoes channels the deeper currents of '90s progressive trance, with hypnotic arpeggios, rich trance plucks, and a darker emotional tone. Inspired by pioneers like Dominion and Tilt, the track unfolds gradually over a bed of chunky, rolling percussion, building atmosphere through subtle tension and layered progression.

Stellar Echoes

After completing our research on the shimmering crystal plains of Lunareth, we launched back into the void, only to find ourselves in an impossible stretch of space— an ocean of light, with a massive sun blazing at the center. Our instruments signal progressive elements out on the horizon. Navigation is a puzzle; our journey? Eternal. But our maps are blurred as if the universe itself was trying to hide the way forward…
