Ways were wicked, devil patterned,
Hate, conviction, making digits,
Way the money moving 
Had me acting different
Mr. Cold-Fingered, dope dealer,
Make my own concoctions,
No, I don’t feel it, 
Liquor got me walking odd angled,
The trail of tears’ ripple effect
Was star spangled,

They say on and on,
These moments come and go,
Through pain and changes,
All the highs and lows we seek,
From glum to glee to anguish, it’s
What we need to aid our growth as we keep aging,
To fight against that ebb & flow
Is to repeat the same shit.
Universe don’t care,
But people do,
Sometimes you need to hear,
“Someone believes in you”
Behind the scenes, you best believe,
That you can reach out to me,
Like Guru once said,
“We all must meet our moment of truth”

Everytime we coalesce, correspond,
Or commune,
You know we color our humanity,
With many different hues,
Like the plumage of a bird,
Fly together then disperse,
All directions on Mother Earth,
Point back to love at her roots,
Like Mavi I be breathing,
Out of love for respiration,
Even when my life’s 
A tug of war with frustration,
I’m regal with my people,
Cause we struggled all the same,
Huddled in the cold,
Resuscitating a flame,
That inner fire we used to spark imagination
