As Detroit/Berlin label Visionquest ekes towards its 50th release, Londoner Sonny Fodera follows up releases on Suara, Defected, Dirtybird and Cajual by teaming up with Chicago house specialist Gene Farris on the undeniably groovy "We Work It." The release is a little more on the upfront side for a VQ release and it's a drugged out anthem for everyone who likes to get that little bit extra frisky on the dancefloor.

We'd been waiting for this one since NYE when an impromptu tag set happened between these two and we knew it was fate at it's finest hour.  We got the boys together and the result was incredible, a 4 hour B2B set with The Scumfrog also providing some live drums to compliment the set had Mighty in a frenzy of dance.  We are certainly looking forward to doing this again!

Tara has been warming our hearts and souls ever since she became a Resident DJ for us a year and a half ago. Her vibe is positively infectious and her tunes are nothing short of world class.  We've seen her grow as a DJ, a producer, and as a person so much since she's been with us, and we know that all stems from her relentless work ethic. She's gigging more than ever and really starting to make her mark on the House & Techno scene. We couldn't be more proud to call her our Desert Hearts sister and we couldn't be happier to share with you her 2 hour techno set from our Desert Hearts Spring Festival 2015. We can always count on her to bring the heat to the table at anytime and her set right before M.A.N.D.Y. really set the tone for Friday night at the festival. Enjoy Desert Hearts Fam! <3

Una de aquellas noches, en el medio de la madrugada, cuando los cuerpos se mueven en frenesí y sudan gotas de placer, irrumple aquel vocal que exhorta a los danzantes a emparejarse con el mejor compañero. Se lo susurra al oído con sutileza: "Bailemos con el diablo". Y los seres nocturnos no dudan en hacer caso a esta invitación profana. 
Juan Harrison develó a ese invisible acompañante y se lo reveló al mundo con el track del mismo nombre, el cual salió editado en el cuarto compilado del sello de Matt Walsh, Cloouded Vision, y ha llegado a ser pinchado por artistas del calibre de Ivan Smagghe. Este pista consolida a Tkuz, puesto que ya estaba en la mira desde que Morgan Hammer pincha y chartea "In The Box", pista firmada bajo Black Leather Records. El sonido del mexicano se forja desde sus primeros años con Paul Parker, Kano y Divine; y posteriormente, en su juventud, con Aphex Twin, Ural 13 Diktator y David Carreta, a la par de los conocimientos que adquirió mientras era batero en aquellos años y sus fieles compañeros, la TR707 y el KORG MS-20. El corte de sus producciones le ha permitido lanzar en sellos como The Exquisite Pain, La Dame Noir, Blindetonation y Logical Records, y tener el respaldo de artistas como Gameboyz, The Hacker, Dave Clarke, Tronik Youth, Birds of Paradise, entre otros. For this weeks podcast we decided to go deep. Like deep sea diver deep, as we bring some classically inspired peak time house from Detroit’s latest electronic music export Golf Clap. We’re not sure why it is that the Motor City continues to be such a hotbed for musical talent but all we can say is that we’re glad that it is.

Golf Clap are Hugh Cleal and Bryan Jones, a duo with an unmatched passion for house music and a seemingly endless supply of studio and club-focussed creativity. And with releases on some of the world’s most influential house labels already under their belts, along with a lauded Boiler Room session and beyond, they’re only just getting started. Whether they’re playing clubs, warehouse shows or at an impromptu after-party – which they more than likely arranged themselves – the sheer love these guys have for playing records and making people dance is evident. Just ask Lee Foss, Shiba San or any of the other DJs who’ve shared the decks with them for a B2B session: Golf Clap can mix it with the very best of them.

2016 has already seen the release of yet more essential Golf Clap material, including remixes for Simma Black and Sleazy G, original productions ‘All You Need’ and ‘Feel It’ on Country Club Disco and most recently their remix of Skapes ‘Deeper Love’. Add to this a flourishing gig schedule, including a European tour in May and upcoming bookings at Mysteryland and Spring Awakening this summer, and 2016 looks set to be a landmark year for the boys from Detroit.

One of our all time favourites delivers a 4,5-hour long live recording for this week’s Dekmantel Podcast: BMG is the man in charge of the Interdimensional Transmissions label and Ectomorph - two dynamic, long-standing Michigan institutions. Brendan M. Gillen is part of the history of Detroit as much as the acclaimed superstars. Through a network of pseudonyms such as Ectomorph, BMG, Flexitone, Existence And Uniqueness Of Solutions and others he wrote pages and pages of history. Gillen will play this year’s Dekmantel Festival By Night as part of the No Way Back showcase, featuring Bryan Kasenic, Carlos Souffront, Erika, and Derek Plaslaiko. The mix was recorded at a The Bunker Limited night at Trans Pecos.

With a background originating in Hip-Hop, Funk E started establishing himself within the underground electronic music scene in his native Romania, where he had many residencies since 2003. Funk E’s future really began to take shape in 2008 when he secured a residency at the most musically forward-thinking party in Ibiza, The Zoo Project, where he played week in and week out every summer to thousands of party-goers.
