Releasing records on various seminal electronic record labels since the mid 1990’s, Chris Cargo has had internationally celebrated success with his work on Renaissance, Choo Choo Records, Global Underground, and many more.  His latest involvement on a creative end with Fall From Grace Records has been what Chris is known best for - blistering strong melodic progressive house and techno music.  This is modal music at its best, with subtleties of transition and layering that provides great depth and dimension, both in the sonic design but also the arrangement and flow.  Replete on the B Side is label owner Glenn Morrison with a more stripped out dub remix, using hints and flashes of the original motifs whilst redoing enough to give it a sense of meaning on the overall release.  The penultimate synth motif in the breakdown is minimalism in its approach and wide in its effect.  This is the first original series release from Chris Cargo and we have had an immense wave of support already on this release from the likes of Adam Beyer, Luciano, Marco Carola, Laurent Garnier, & Carl Craig. Inspired by the classic trance sounds that he grew up to, Guy J has dug super-deep and returned with something super-special. Musical, emotional, hypnotic: both tracks will take you to places you’ve not explored in years.

‘Aurore’ hits with chunky drum arrangement that’s reminiscent of Deep Dish at the height of their powers; deep, driving and wide enough to carry the weight of the pristine synths, humanised rhythmic textures and melodic weaves, this keeps building until the very end of its epic tenure. Beautiful.

‘Airborne’, meanwhile, is the full trip: almost 10 minutes of locked-in beauty as we glide further and further into a state of unblinkered positivity. Building us up with precision tension, Guy doesn’t even introduce the life-affirming riff until 4.30 but by jove you know about it when he does. Immaculate elevation that seems to come from nowhere; timeless emotionally rich techno like this is universal. Reach for the skies…

Speaking Minds returns to Alex Niggeman’s evergreen AEON with his first EP in over a year… And he’s making up for lost time. Following his epic ‘Space Teleportation’ on AEON’s ‘Lost Tapes Vol 2’ these are high grade immersion sessions tailored perfectly for the darker, colder nights.

Teaming up with newcomer Italian talent Amarcord for both tracks, the entire EP is a vacation from the senses. We kick off with ‘Odissea’, a track that more than lives up to its name. A total odyssey enshrouded with mystic melodic clouds; it’s one of those tracks that diverts you to places unknown without realising before bringing you back into reality with a blissful bump. Effortlessly dramatic but subtle when it needs to be, this is Speaking Minds at his dreamiest and daring.

‘Hit Me’ is also fittingly titled; a palpitating heartbeat drum arrangement takes the lead before the deft melodic layers develop slowly and cosmically but persistently, driving into the dancefloor with focused momentum. For added drive head for Bawrut’s remix where the elements are broken down and rebuilt over an electroid swing, pristine percussion and breakdown that will have your dancefloor momentarily skating on thin air.

What a way to start the year. Please remain buckled as AEON have plenty more trips where this came from.
