My next guest on Yax Invites is Liam ‘DUTS’ Dutton; a DJ and promoter from North West, England.

Having had a keen interest in electronic music from an early age from Drum & Bass, to House and 90's/00's Trance, discovered Techno in 2017 from attending local parties and festivals. Being massively inspired by the rawness, hypnosis-inducing and powerful nature of the genre, he felt a sense of expressing his passion for the music. Here he endeavoured on the journey of DJing.

He has since been invited to play at events in Manchester and more recently further afield in Poland by Vague Collective - a Manchester Techno collective, and is co-founder of a new, soon-to-be announced, Manchester-based party which has its debut 12-hour day party this August.

In this showcase mix expect a slight shift in styles over time, as he takes the listener on a journey of hypnotic rhythms, accompanied by a consistent deep and driving presence that is as satisfying for listening, as it is for dancing.

Our guest for this episode is Yax - a techno DJ from Adelaide, Australia drawing influence from the likes of artists such as DVS1, Jeff Mills, and Setaoc Mass.

His style is continuously evolving through extensive digging for deep, groovy, hypnotic, and minimal techno, as he takes inspiration from the 90s and early 00s era, while still adding a modern twist to his sets.

Heading from Buenos Aires based in Barcelona, Squaric has forged his position as a DJ and producer. It all started at the end of 2007, when Rodrigo organized his first rave in an abandoned gas station, from that moment until today he has been creating different projects and playing around the world non stop.

Over the years Squaric had the pleasure of playing at festivals and club such as Tresor, Unpolished Festival, Contact Tokyo, Dommune, Griessmuehle, Razzmatazz, About Blank, Suicide Club and so on.

When he's behind the decks he loves to create and play with different moods and atmospheres, felling the energy of the crowd that is the fundamental element to complete his work. Squaric sets are filled with powerfull and high energy sounds held by well crafted technique, blending a wide range of genres, from Techno and Electro to more experimental electronica and IDM.

There aren’t many black techno producers / DJ’s in Berlin these
days but @eonan is definitely one of them. Since a few years he is
creating his own sound signature which is dark like his skin but
deep and drifty like his mind. By himself he would describe his
music as sci-fi-techno but he doesn’t take himself too serious
with that. His style is definitely atmospheric, hypnotic and
deeply reflecting the ups and downs in life.

To understand Eònan’s identity it’s helpful to spot the light on
where he comes from. Born and raised in Germany he pretty
early got infected by techno music from artists like Surgeon,
Jeff Mills, Takkyu Ishino or Cari Lekebusch just to drop a few
famous names from the 90’s. Nevertheless these kind of
artists had a big influence on Eònan’s musical development. It’s
important to mention that he also made a huge journey
through different genres that reflect in his music as well. All that
creates an interesting sound signature that catches more and
more fans in the scene.

As a DJ he likes to play at a tearing pace, always with a certain
groove and intelligent synth sounds rather than choosing
narrowed and too simple tracks for his sets. In Eònan’s opinion
techno is a universal language that speaks to us like it comes
from a far out and foreign galaxy.
