I've been a fan of Erykah Badu's since the 90s. Her singing and songwriting skill is phenomenal. I wanted to maintain the shuffle-like quality of the R&B original to this song but make it dancey as well. It's a slower BPM (112) than most of the mixes I make. Track is not being monetized.

In it's original form, this song is a mid-tempo R&B song. Check it out, it's got an awesome beat. Each time I decide a song to mix, I often think of the 90s - 90s house, 90s R&B. For some reason, Changing Faces popped into my head. I can't say they're always at the forefront of my mind when I think of that era, but they did have some good songs and have amazing voices. I think the song worked well with this beat. I had to detune the vocal to get SC to accept it. Track is not being monetized.

In its original form, this song has a slow R&B groove. One of the best songs on her 'Velvet Rope' album, in my opinion. I made it dancey - not in love with what I came up with but didn't feel like rebuilding it. Still kinda fun. Track is not being monetized.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have an undying appreciation for Alanis Morissette. As a teen in the early 90s in Canada, we got to know her as a dance pop singer before she segued into rock music. 'Walk Away' is one of my favourite songs from her debut album, aptly titled 'Alanis'. I had previously made a remix of this song using a Naughty By Nature sample from 'Uptown Anthem'. I listened to it a few days ago and, frankly, it was trash LOL. So I remade it into something I like much more. The vocal is pretty artifacted but I tried to clean it up as best I could. Clubland released some great dance tracks in the 90s. It was only when reading up on them a day ago, after I'd already started making this mix, that I learned the vocalist they're most closely associated with, Zemya Hamilton, had passed away in 2015. The titling of this song alternates between 'Crescent Moon' and 'Beneath this Crescent Moon'. I've opted for the latter as I pulled the vocal from the ballad version of this song as, on his album 'The Way You Love Me', this is how its named. The slower, latin-infused, style is stunning. As that, Marc Evans has crafted one of the most beautiful songs that I've ever heard. While I wanted to create a house mix of it, I tried to retain some of the emotion through the strings and synth.
