My Remixes

A mix of my favourite Deee-Lite song 'Thank You Everyday'. The toughest time I've had sequencing vocals, but it was a fun challenge. Also wove in elements of Ultra Nate's 'You're Not the Only One', Raye's 'Escapism', Lisa Stansfield's 'The Real Thing', and LeeeN's 'I Need'.

I've loved Arnold Jarvis' voice for as long as I can remember. This is one my favourite songs of his. The bass is taken from Jody Watley's 'Looking for a New Love'. Track is not being monetized.

Arnold Jarvis - Life Goes On (MJB:217 Remix)

Lifted a semi-rough vocal (i.e. some static on the verses and couldn't strip some of the yells in the background) from Janet Jackson's 'State of the World'. The bass is from MK feat. Alana's song 'Reality'. Some keyboard from Madonna's 'Vogue'. Piano is from Jodeci's 'Freekn You (Aqcora Remix). Strings from Cathy Dennis' 'You Lied to Me'.

Tried another mix of Alanis' early 90s Canada-only dance-pop single 'Plastic'. I wasn't too crazy about the first mix I made, was rather lackluster. I'm happier with this one but I left the original up. Lifted the vocal from that track. Bass and drum are from En Vogue's 'Time Goes On (Extended Remix). Keyboard is from Leeen's 'I Need'. Strings (I distorted them) are from Cathy Dennis' 'You Lied to Me'. Organ is from David Morales' 'Respect (Def Classic Mix).

Alanis - Plastic (MJB:217 Better Plastic Remix)

I wish Amerie had a bigger career in music than what she has as she's got a phenomenal voice. Arguably, she's most remembered for her song '1 Thing'. I've always loved this R&B track from her second album, 'Touch' (which '1 Thing' is also on). Track is not being monetized. 

Amerie - Rolling Down My Face (MJB:217 Remix)

The titling of this song alternates between 'Crescent Moon' and 'Beneath this Crescent Moon'. I've opted for the latter as I pulled the vocal from the ballad version of this song as, on his album 'The Way You Love Me', this is how its named. The slower, latin-infused, style is stunning. As that, Marc Evans has crafted one of the most beautiful songs that I've ever heard. While I wanted to create a house mix of it, I tried to retain some of the emotion through the strings and synth.
