I always loved this song, and after the intentionally bad remix I made for 'Nothing', I thought DM deserved something better.

I started the remix while learning how to use NI Maschine (which kicks major ass, by the way). All the sample-chopping and filtering was made on it. I might still play around with the mix, but this is pretty much the final version.

Depeche Mode’s Precious is a timeless record that captures the best of Depeche Mode’s sound and distinct electronic soundscapes. Dave Gahan creates an atmosphere and mood all on his own with his voice.  I wanted to create a remix that highlighted the amazing vocal part while creating a silky groove underneath.  I think the added acoustic guitar and bells add natural color to the mix and compliment the sincerity of the lyrics.

Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence (Ean Golden Live Remix)

With pumping house beats and signature vocals, Daft Punk's Discovery is a classic electronic album. I've always been a fan of the track High Life on the album and thought about trying to create a new mix for DJ sets. Lately I have been jamming some Empire of the Sun and love the vibe they create with their vocals. These tracks came together when I was working on some mashup possibilities. It's a bit different than the progressive house style I normally play in my sets, as it's more house, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I wanted to share it, as it's a fun jam and it's ready to rock in DJ sets. The Temper Trap – Sweet Disposition (Matt Crofford Remix)

When I first heard this beautiful song I knew I had to attempt a remix.I was unable to obtain the full acapella - so I worked with what I could sample and jammed on guitar until I found a guitar part that fit the mood of the record.I wanted to create a remix with a mellow mood that prominently featured the hypnotizing original melody and feel. The original record features a very refreshing and emotional sound and I hope this remix provides another additional way to experience it.

Travel back to 1981 with the smooth, unforgettable beats of Hall & Oates and combine them with some dubby Foster the People vocals and you get this jam mix "Go For that Broken Jaw." I had always wanted to remix or sample "I Cant Go for That" by Hall & Oates and when I started working on a remix, I had been listening to a ton of Foster the People and really enjoyed the vocal vibes from their song "Broken Jaw." This mix blends both songs to craft a nice smooth groover to enjoy this summer from the headphones to out on the dancefloor. I definitely was groovin while working on this mix and hope you enjoy it as well! Let me know what you think!

So i did this remix almost a year ago, and after it got such a good response on soundcloud and elsewhere, I decided that instead of giving it away, I would try to get in touch with CocoRosie to see about the possibility of a legit release.I never cared about making any money off of it, and I wanted to give them all the royalties.But they have proven rather tough to contact (understandable, given their international success).So, I've finally decided to give it away, slightly tweaked and re-mastered.

I have always been a huge fan of BT and his musical innovation. Mercury and Solace is one of my all time favs, and a record I've listened to many times for inspiration. When I saw this contest remix opportunity last week I knew I had to try and give it a go. Love the vocal by Matt Hales and the smooth upbeat vibes. Hard to believe I started these podcast mixes 4 years ago with Spring 2009 - time flies! This Spring mix was a lot of fun working on, as it brought back some great old memories and it was really exciting to blend together some new mashups with some older classics and recent favorites.  I have tons of new music projects started this year I just need to finalize a lot of them and then will share soon!  This mix really captures the sound I enjoy listening to and I hope it will fit nicely in with your 2013 journey.  I took the photo for this mix while backpacking in the mountains in Southern California as the sun was setting. Claes Rosen (Blood Groove & Kikis Remix) Vs. Salt Tank - Eugina Starlight (Matt Crofford Mash) - Starlight was one of my favorite tracks of 2012 and Eugina is an all time classic which brings back sooo many memories.. Blood Groove and Kikis did an amazing job with their remix.  I am thrilled with the way this mashup turned out as it takes two outstanding records and blends another way to enjoy them and was the perfect opener for this Spring Mix - let me know what you think about it!  

A.M.R feat. Ai Takekawa - Beyond The Moon (Pierre in the Air Remix) - really amazing record with emotional melody and an amazing vocal

Chris Lake feat. Emma Hewitt - Carry Me Away - another one of my all time favorites and a record I have listened to soooo many times for inspiration, this will always be a classic record and I have always wanted to play it on a seasons mix - it fit perfectly with the vibe of this Spring Mix 

Dan & Sam feat. Maxx Hennard - Walls - these guys are making some of the best new music right now and I have been waiting to play this on a seasons podcast for months - one of the best new records I have heard - really just an unreal piece of music all together from the production to the vocal to the feel good melody

Deadmau5 Vs. Soulforge (Luiz B Remix) - Jaded Destiny (Matt Crofford Mash) - Jaded is another record I have listened to countless times for inspiration and one I always wanted to play on the podcast - Luiz B's remix of "It was destiny" is another outstanding record and these two blended so well together

Talamanca - Ocean Drive - really been enjoying Talamanca's tunes and this record perfectly encapsulates feel good progressive house - love it 

Shiftone - Thai Spa (Schodt Remix) - Silk recently released a catalogue of Schodt's music and this was yet another awesome breaks track he remixed - great melodies and excellent production as always

Shingo Nakamura - Perception - Shingo continues to make emotional and groovy prog beats with his signature piano lines - great sounding record 

BT - Skylarking - BT continues to make some of the best music out there and this track is truly an amazing journey!
