Anjunabeats Volume 14 is the latest chapter in a story spanning many years, each mix an epochal statement piece rewarding those who listen closely with an incisive take on the sounds that will define Anjuna dancefloors this year.

Sketched on the road and in their London studio, the mix album coalesced in scarce periods of calm amidst a whirlwind of giddying career highs: the band’s 2018 album ‘Common Ground’ reached #3 in the Official Billboard Album chart while an accompanying tour saw the trio travel to every corner of the globe. Joining the dots between the intimate sound of Anjunadeep and the stadium-sized productions found on Anjunabeats, Volume 14 once sees Above & Beyond craft a mesmerising journey through forward-thinking electronic music. The two disc, 34-track mix includes exclusive selections from their ever expanding Anjuna family of artists as well as original contributions from the band themselves.

Grum’s ‘Deep State’ transmissions resume...
Conspiracy theories have been running wild around the disappearance of Graeme Shepherd a.k.a. Grum’s second (or is that third) artist L.P. ‘Deep State’. Announced late in 2018, the album vanished. While he cannot confirm nor deny some of the more colourful conjecture around the album’s withdrawal, Grum and Anjunabeats are pleased to announce that ‘Deep State’ is back, rewired and reinvigorated for 2019.

Reflecting the unsettling times we live in, ‘Deep State’ has moments of light and dark. It’s a showcase of Grum’s ability to craft pitch-black progressive and immersive vocal pop. The 10-track album is a refined take on the current state of progressive trance.

A throwback to the riff-heavy rave sounds of the 90s, the first broadcast from ‘Deep State’ is ‘Stay’. As heard on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats Volume 14 mix compilation, this saturnine warehouse cut was a popular set opener this summer. ‘Stay’ features a haunting vocal from British singer Nathalie Shay, who you can also hear on ‘Afterglow’.

A producer who has been earning releases on prestigious labels since the age of 15, Matt Fax’s name in Progressive & Trance circles has increasingly become synonymous with, & rightly mentioned alongside the modern pioneers of the genre.

Matt’s extensive catalogue behind him offers an unparalleled diversity of sounds firmly rooted in his melodic, atmospheric pedigree.
For a producer who has only just hit his twenties, he’s able to boast a host of career achievements; releases on labels like Enhanced Music, Armada, & Anjunabeats, Garuda, Statement!, including a full album release on Colorize, official remix works for a-list stars; Armin van Buuren, Tritonal, Gareth Emery, collaborations with scene legends like BT & regular support from international radio shows including; BBC Radio1, A State of Trance & Group Therapy.

Having recently diversified with his Matters side project, and with a newly launched bi-weekly radio show ‘The Showcase’ broadcast worldwide via DI.fm, the Matt Fax approach to Progressive has earned him a loyal, global fan base and is now widely considered one of the leading lights responsible for pushing the Progressive sound forward.
