Crossfrontier Audio are proud to bring Foreign Guest to the foray, the exceptionally talented, Berlin born producer brings out his debut release on CFA with Rek / Fin. The release sees 3 brand new tracks, out for grabs early August, which are bound to cause some havoc on the floor.

Foreign Guest is certainly no stranger to the world of music, a multi-instrumentalist from a young age; he took to engineering and producing not long after he was meddling with piano keys and guitar strings.

Already playing out and proving popular, very much at home behind the decks, he’s emphasised the time spent in the studio to resonate right back to those experiences on the dance-floor, with production skills way beyond his years.

With the hotly tipped debut, the first track on the release ‘Rek’ gets right down to business with melodic riffs, crafting an intricately built sense of depth that rides through the upbeat tempo, swarming to heights untold before the drop is unleashed on howling clubbers – it’s gone down a riot when played out live.

‘Fin’ holds up on the same ground too, yet sturdier and almost ghostly in aura, Foreign Guest devilishly plays with synths and pads to devastating effect on this one – big sounds, tightly woven together, with no surrender.

The finale and another warm welcome goes to Rashid Ajami, the London based producer who’s released some top tracks on heavily-lauded labels and righteously so. It’s only fitting then that CFA brought him in to remix ‘Rek’ - Rashid brings a twist to Foreign Guest’s original, with a crisp finish he takes the already commanding notes of ‘Rek’ and uses them as a linchpin to drive the rhythm into abandon.

RELEASE DESCRIPTION

The 36th release on Darin Epsilon’s Perspectives Digital is a special collaboration between legendary producer Lexicon Avenue, Andrew Best, and vocalist Slim Wall. Perhaps best known for his Depeche Mode 'Only When I Lose Myself' interpretation, Chris Scott of Lexicon Avenue has been on the cutting edge of electronic music for over 10 years. He boasts a discography which includes releases on Audio Therapy, Hooj Choons, Ministry of Sound, Mute, Renaissance, and Yoshitoshi. UK producer Andrew Best spent many years collaborating with Lexicon Avenue and Mic Burns of Blue Haze fame before beginning a successful solo endeavor in 2013.

The final interpretation of 'Slide' is provided by UK talent Joseph Thomas Price, better known as Third Son, who is making his first appearance on the label.  Less than a year into his third production alias, he has already found a home on Suara, Noir Music, and Definitive Recordings.  Danny Tenaglia and Maceo Plex have been two of his biggest supporters and he's turned in a fabulous interpretation of 'Slide' for his Perspectives debut.  Its brooding groove and storyboard of haunting stabs provides an engaging journey.  A dubbier take on the vocal elements allows the contemporary designs to excel and provides a rousing conclusion to the release.  A wonderful remix from one of this year's brightest stars.  Don't miss it.

For the second remix we decided to go with a good friend of the label, HearThuG. We knew he would deliver something out of the ordinary and you bet he has! The track gives you a real sense of uplifting clarity and true happiness. He created this piece of art with dubby distorted stab hits, driving groove patterns accompanied with melodic pads. A real gorgeous piece of work from this incredible producer.

Over the last 7 years, Wide Angle Recordings has proven itself as an innovative leader in melodic dance music. Although 2015 has been a quiet year for the label, it remains dedicated to its craft and the pursuit of quality electronic music with heart.  For the 49th release, Wide Angle Recordings presents Dustin Nantais, a Canadian artist who embodies that sentiment and ushers in a renewed energy for the label with this stunning 2-track single. 

The title track, Marching Through The Universe, is a versatile heavy-weight with its monstrous kick and driving plucked bassline. It sounds equally at home on a sun-filled afternoon as it does at 3am in the club. The airy textures and percussion offer a perfect counter-balance to the track's low end while the floating piano adds a sense of familiarity and charm. Marching Through The Universe has already found its way into the sets of Lee Burridge, Hernan Cattaneo, Hoj and Miss Melera - and that's only the beginning.

Dustin Nantais showcases a deeper side with Hearts & Minds, the single's b-side. This stripped-back creeper slowly draws you in with layers of hypnotizing effects, percussion and synth work. The track culminates with a building melody that cuts its way through the those layers and pulls you out to the other side. Hearts & Minds is a unique secret weapon for those late night sets.

Following a string of releases from more familiar names such as Quivver, Cristoph & Third Son, Selador turns it's attention to providing a launch pad for a new name in electronic production, Datametrik.

The French duo are no novices though, Willy Real & David Prap already have plenty of experience under their belts. But this new project is the start of a new focus formulated to help them realise their full potential which on this evidence, can only be a matter of time.

The mood is deep, dark and deadly throughout with three equally devastating after hours weapons in 'Xenon', 'Azote' & 'Neon' accompanied by a couple of A-list remixes from B Pitch Control's Kiki and Bristol's latest poster boy, Dubspeeka.

Kicking off with the first track "Lose Yourself", Viken Arman mixes different cultural influences to an exciting and mysterious intro of the 3 track EP. Guitars rise into unknown spaces of deep bass and hidden complexity of beatstructures.
 
The second track, "Red", lead by wavy-delayed chords and soft vocals spreads the EP into a more percussional quiet way, supported by sitar and slight bass. 
 
Lastly, Maher Daniel abducts "Red", the rhythmical trip, straight back to the dark clubroots. Alternately combining the tight instrumentally base of Viken Arman and his own terms of reference.

Never one to let the show slow down, Sonic Future has really poured some muscle into this, as the dark harbinger turns into provocative showmanship that storms through for a fitting finale – expect no mercy when you play this one out.
