Park Shadow is the project of Finnish producer Joonas Lehtinen, a figure whose roots stretch back to the late '90s tracker era. A very personal vision of drum and bass, this project reflects a balance between natural formlessness and urban grit.

With previous releases across the scene, Park Shadow arrives on Metalheadz with the 'Altitudez EP'. Goldie's interest in the title track set the course for an EP that draws on the roots of jungle and drum & bass while exploring its outer edges.

Across its four tracks, the EP unfolds as a journey - beginning in foggy melancholy, shifting into bittersweet, rave-charged energy, rising toward brighter, more uplifting tones and closing with an almost dreamlike sense of release. Breakbeat-heavy throughout, the 'Altitudez EP' is a release that carries the spirit of jungle into new terrain.

The year is 2018 - I was sleeping in my friends studio in downtown Vancouver (Shoutout Greazus!) while touring in North America. I had some time alone in their studio in the evenings so I started using their equipment and stumbled across this patch on a Native Instruments controller that I really liked (the weird glitchy percussion) and it was just one of those tracks that wrote itself. :)

 I'm really proud of this track, it's a sound I'm not really exploring anymore - but maybe that will change...
