The iconic artist Jerry Williams Jr., A.K.A. Swamp Dogg has always been way ahead of the curve. From his LSD trip revelation in 1969 that made him realize his alter ego Swamp Dogg and the resulting groundbreaking album "Total Destruction To Your Mind," to his most recent full-length which features a spooky collaboration with neo-folk artist Bon Iver, Swamp's music has always been highly-original, provocative and completely unexpected. One never knows what the funky genius will do next - listeners are still trying to catch up to what he was putting down in the early 1970's. It doesn't matter much which era of Swamp's music you listen to, it always remains current, thought provoking and intriguing. A case in point would be the 1970 track "Synthetic World." From the opening montage: "Hey you, I'm up from the bayou / where the wildlife runs free / you could say that I'm country / but let me tell you what I see / your world is plastic / can see through to the other side...." - Swamp Dogg takes you on a trip through another reality. Inspired by Swamp's innovative new album that uses synthetic sounds and auto-tune in an entirely new direction, two extremely talented remixers (Miami via Havana's Raphox on track 1, and the internationally renowned Billy Paul Williams on tracks 2-4) take Swamp Dogg's classic 1970 track "Synthetic World," and completely reimagine it through the lens of today's world....and the results are nothing short of electrifying.
