Ecstatic dance set prerecorded live played for the Asheville Movement Collective & Warren Wilson College on 4.14.23. The event was also a benefit for the Center for Conscious Living & Dying, an organization doing incredible service towards cultivating presence and respect for death by honoring and embracing the final seasons of life and providing proper end of life care ✨ 

The set is inspired by their mission, with a vision of cultivating consciousness and presence through the death portal, so expect a bit of a journey into the bardo. May we dance to cultivate a deeper awareness of our relationship with death and may we find that we celebrate life that much more and dance that much harder as a result <3

Plant medicine and ceremony has been helping humanity heal for countless generations. Most people are familiar with the idea of going into the jungle and sitting in plant medicine ceremonies to heal themselves. This can be a beautiful thing and I am infinitely grateful for all of our plant and fungi teachers.
But did you know that you can experience a profound, psychedelic and medicinal journey without having to go to the jungle and drink medicine in ceremony?

Where can I do this?
In our ecstatic dance medicine circle, the powerful container that we all co-create and participate in every week. 

What makes this space powerful?
This space is intentionally created both physically and energetically and is created specifically for free self expression through the body without using words or conventional language.

How is this done? 
By simply getting out of your own way, getting  out of your rational and judge mental mind. 
By focusing on your breath and closing your eyes you can more easily tune into your physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. Trust me, they do want your attention! 
By bringing your awareness to these parts of yourself you then drop ever deeper into the present moment experience and it becomes easier and easier to simply and continual let go of the monkey mind when it pops up in your awareness. 

Allow this musical soundscape be your medicine journey. See if you can lose yourself in the music and really go for the ride. And don't worry, your rational mind will be waiting for you on the other side. 
This musical journey is crafted with lots of love and made in honor and gratitude of Vilcabamba/Ecuador/South America and all of Latin America and of course our African roots.
