Your personal breakbeat sherpa this summer is Darkstar, back with his fourth Jungletrain promomix installment. The trailhead for this journey is a deep halftime vibe that touches on some esoteric thinkin' music before launching headfirst into amen-laden jungle.

The subdued choppage provides a vibrant plateau of barely contained energy through the majority of the mix, painting a backdrop of a diverse tapestry that enshrouds the skyline that is our musical home. Concluding the the trek, our path winds down towards a cerebral multidimensional meditation guided by modern production techniques that fertilize the rhythmic soil for future generations to contemplate.

Wrapping up, Darkstar adds: "My favorite moment in the mix has to be Aeon Four's Babylon into Rumbleton's Sound Family. The Maya Angelou 'Still I Rise' quotation fits so perfectly in the spacious dubwise breakdown, with the messages interleaving on multiple levels. For us a very Big Pleasure & Honor, to have this well up, very good Dj & Producer now here for the Podcast-Residenzie yeaah. After Jeane's grateful grande Set, for us the perfect Podcast, to continue here. Mila is related to Labels like 130 P and Nymphony Records. She got a lot of extra nice Set & Trackproductions on her accounts, go there too to enjoy them. Mila is also part of the Duo Siamese Society and had played a lot of great Podcasts around, for example a Reaktor-Techno Podcast, like i have played one, for Chief Jürgen Lapuse. Recording of the set I did last weekend at the legendary Tresor in Berlin. Had a great time hanging out with the BCR and Tresor crew, all the friends that came over, a lot of them from Rotterdam and of course the amazing crowd. Other artists that were playing on the same night were Joseph McGeechan, Monya, Ad.Lib and Chris Page. Great sets all night long! Thanks everybody for a night to remember! I recently found a whole bunch of mixes I did between 1992 and 1997 and have started the long process of ripping the cassettes to mp3.
As I work through them in no particular order I’ll put them up here for download.
Remember the sound quality isn’t great as they were all recorded through a mixer with no EQ and committed to cassette on a shabby home stereo…But what the hell, it’s that authentic 90s sound through and through.

This is the second in the series and, yes, I dislike the term 'intelligent' as much as you probably do but I never really figured out what we were supposed to call this stuff, even though we were in the thick of it at the time.
