This remix (March 20024) removes the rim shot (which was driving me nuts) and adds a new drum section.  
The nspiration is Ann Leckie's award winning "Ancillary Justice"  epic, written back in 2014. How did I miss it? 
This is  the first track on a mini-album and is meant to reflect the overall theme: the hyper rational determination of the central character (Breq) to deliver justice against an empire bent on brutal annexations.  Hmmm.....
The cover art is from a limited edition of the book and is by Lauren Saint-Onge.

Originally made for Disquiet Junto Project 0563, but abandoned (in favor of https://soundcloud.com/winterer/melodic-walking-disquiet0563 )because of having too much "magic" but no "realism" at all. But for what it is I like the track very much.

Jan 5 - Father Time's Grandpa

Whenever I hear a rhythmic noise like the sound of this downspout, or a windshield wiper, or ceiling fan, I always find myself filling out the beat in my head. So, for this submission, I decided to cut up the sample in to “calls” and did about four takes of “responses” on my drums. After that, I went back in Ableton, chose my favorite parts and added a random effect on each section, automating each one on and off.

Regardless of how I feel about the resulting recording, the important thing about this track is that I really, truly had fun making it. It was the first time in as long as I can remember that I started laughing out loud playing my drums.

On 5th November 2012 solidgoldgem.am launched on the internet to the world.  Playing music from the 40s to the 80s we needed a powerful news jingle for our hourly bulletins, and chose what we believe is the best News jingle from any jingle company from the last 20 years. It brought together over 100 years of radio production/music experience of its creators, They were Jon Wolfert of JAM Dallas,  and the legendary Tom Merriman (now sadly deceased) who was  part of TM Productions back in its heyday. The cut was custom made for WABC New Radio New York, and our 'Radio Like It Used To Be' line fits perfectly.

The idea was to remix a 3 part collaboration from last week. 
I fed small loops of a specific part of this track https://soundcloud.com/melondruie/unsafe-approach-disquiet-0474?in=disquiet/sets/disquiet-junto-project-0474 into a hardware looper to try and make something totally new.

Mixed in ableton. Hard to control the mid frequencies
