Scene 10 : "C'est l'heure du procès!..."

A work for brass ensemble and fixed-media electronics that captures the horizon at sea level.   Large evolving harmonies fold over each other, like sails in the wind, that merge between tonal and atonal.

This track is built out of looping @kate-gallaher and the birds in the forest via Ableton, my response to this week's @naviar-records haiku challenge. The details of that are -

"caged bird
glaring with envious eyes
at butterflies!"
 
Among the four great masters of Japanese haiku, Kobayashi Issa (1763-1828) was the most prolific: during his lifetime he wrote over 20,000 haiku, hundreds of tanka, and several haibun.

Another orchestral work with glitch - recalling an earlier time, perhaps not as innocent as we remember - but he couldn't have known - yet, always asked questions.

A tricky eight-part piece (SSAATTBB), with close harmonies, frequent key changes and chromatic movement - a challenge for a more experienced choir, highly effective in evoking the darkness that Christ's coming can bring us out of.

Like the first movement , its tonal center is unclear for most of the movement. The middle section picks up on the quartal chords that were seen from the start of the movement. The main theme returns shortly after, combining two motives from earlier in the movement while reinforcing G major.
