Darkness drew in early, throwing the city into quiet chaos. The air now ripe with winter's chill forced people indoors, while those who were brave enough huddled together on the streets for warmth, sipping cold beers and whispering excitedly. Their mood felt at odds with the weather; it was a sliver of sunshine in the shadows. A much needed injection of joy amongst the gloom.

Trouble Maker's newest release is something of a family affair. Longtime pals of label boss Adam Curtain,  Nottingham stalwart Lukas Wigflex and "The Wizard" Tom Smith AKA Son Of Philip join forces for 'Me & Meds', a project that has been two years in the making. Their second release, following their debut on Lukas' label, in signature Wigflex style the three tracks bring a dose of wonk, tripping through warped basslines, euphoric slow burners and gritty analogue techno, laced with commanding vocals from Notts head Des Hagenasty.

This guy Leibniz is back on Rat Life Records. You might remember him from the collaboration with Credit 00 on Basement Toolz Volume II. This time he goes for a full solo EP. The three course menu consists of a grimy appetiser called "Bat", if your stomach can handle this, we serve "Uzi" as a main course, a whole round of bullets, very hard to digest. "2 Simple" is for dessert, again quite heavy, full of fat and definitely not gluten-free.

Always tempting to Derrick your head off in the studio - I try not to endlessly repeat this vibe but it feels really good & these tracks are super-effective in the dance. Listening back to this now, I think there's another version of this track waiting to come out so I may revisit down the line.
