Techno & Hard Techno DJ/Producer Fernanda Martins is nowadays considered one of the biggest female artists in the world’s Techno scene.

Born in 1982 in Medianeira city, Brazil Fernanda fell in love with music since she was very little, when she discovered Rock, Pop and the New Wave sound from the '80s and '90s. 

As her interest in music and emerging sounds expanded, she began digging and discovered artists such as Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke and Mauro Piccoto. 

Later on, she would become interested in the work of artists such Dave the Drummer, Glenn Wilson, Adam Beyer, among others, highlighting that her preference was always for techno, right from the beginning. 

Through the '90s she began playing and producing techno, funky and acid-tinged at first, then working on improving her technique and ability while mixing all the different variations of techno. 

Through the years since, Fernanda began to expand the range of her musical possibilities and started to add harder and harder soundscapes to her sets, as well as digging deeper into the darker realms of techno with her productions and as label co-founder of devotionrecordsofficial, Hardwork Records and AudioCode Recs.

Bonjuk Bay Stories // 01
This is the first of a series of sets I have been playing in the beautiful Bonjuk Bay, Turkey. I spent a fair amount of time in this magic land this summer, and I played long hours, that for once, I thought of recording ☺️ 
Every session is a new story unfolding, and I chose to start with the most recent one, a spontaneous sunset playtime that happened mid-August 2021.
I played this one on a Sunday,  it was actually my 3rd set there that weekend, and I had fun exploring my old collection. From atmospheric sounds to groovy beats, I hope you have as much fun listening to this one as I had playing it 🌅

March 5th 2022, Oaxaca - Mexico, in the middle of an agave field in no-man's land. A festival organized with incredible love and dedication. People who have not come to celebrate themselves, but have come to celebrate together. People who share a passion for music. People who listen actively and not just mindlessly cheer when the fog machine kicks in. People with wonderful outfits. People who expand your horizons, who give you ideas and thoughts along the way. People I will never forget.
I had the honor to DJ during sunrise, a magical moment when the cold of the night was shaken off and everyone was shining in the warm, red light of the morning sun.

My second amazing experience at Afrikaburn. A special thanks to a great artist and human being @ednoodle for making it possible to play at the beautiful Flying Dutchman. At that moment I didn't had the possibility to record my set. However, last night I recorded it once more for everyone who was there with me, and for those who missed it. "It was one of my highlights at Burning Man 2016 
when i had the chance to play at the White Ocean Camp again....
During my set i saw a lot of people joining us started dancing some with closed eyes
and a lot of hugs were going around...
The sound was even better than the year before and i couldn't believe that my set time was almost over when someone came and told me that i have 10 minutes left, ...

Belgian based Dj and producer Mike Tohr started his musical adventure back in 2008. As a DJ Mike always tries to create a story, he will take you on a trip between deep-melodic and progressive music.

Mike Tohr has played in the best Belgian clubs like Fuse, Ampere, AB, Labyrinth club, Vaag and has played on the famous Diynamic stage at Tomorrowland! Today Mike has already shared the decks with name’s like Stephan Bodzin, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, HVOB, Recondite, Hunter/Game and many more.

With a love for nature he often takes his recording equipment with him into the woods. Here he records samples that he uses to create his own unique organic sound.

Unsere Nr. 207 kommt heute von einem Schweizer/Belgischen Duo, welche ich seit einiger Zeit verfolge. Melodisch und mit der gewissen Tiefe an danceability schaffen sie es ein aufs andere Mal faszinierende Sets aufzunehmen, welche nie ein Bein ruhig stehen lassen. Auch heute.

Nachdem sie sich 2013 auf SC kennengelernt haben, arbeiten Florian und Benoit heute im Tandem, um verträumte elektronische Musik mit einer erzählerischen Mischung aus sowohl deepen als auch lebendigen Elementen in die Welt zu bringen. Unter seinem Alias https://soundcloud.com/bigasti veröffentlichte Benoit auf Imprints wie Steyoyoke, Lost Diaries oder Einmusik und erlangte durch seinen einzigartigen melancholischen Ansatz in der elektronischen Musik schnell Anerkennung in der Szene. Floloco, Florians DJ-Projekt, hält sich weniger streng an nur ein elektronisches Musikgenre. Das Thema, das seine Sets oder Mixe verbindet, ist der besondere "https://soundcloud.com/floloco"-Groove. Nach jahrelanger Erfahrung in der elektronischen Musik als Einzelkünstler, vereint Gimérique den Signature-Sound der beiden Elektronikmusik-Enthusiasten zu einem neuen Kapitel auf ihrem vielversprechenden Weg in der elektronischen Musikszene.

Alles begann mit einem gemeinsamen DJ-Set, das auf der weltweit angesehenen Schirmchendrink-Mixshow veröffentlicht wurde, die die beiden 2015 gemeinsam gegründet haben. Nach mehreren gemeinsamen DJ-Sessions spürten sie, dass es an der Zeit war, das Projekt auf die nächste Stufe zu heben: et voilà, Gimérique war geboren!

Mit ihrer ersten gemeinsamen Produktion im Jahr 2020 hat Gimérique Lerrs "Hummingbird" in ein tiefes und verträumtes Territorium gebracht. 

Gimériques erste Originalproduktion, 'Calm at Heart', wurde im Frühjahr 2020 auf Harabe Recordings veröffentlicht und erkundet eine ambientere Landschaft ihres Sounds. 

Voller Ideen und Inspiration haben sich die beiden während der Pandemie im Studio verkrochen. Mit purer Aufregung können die beiden nun endlich ihre kommenden Projekte ankündigen, und das schon bald.

Anbei habe ich es mir nicht nehmen lassen Ihnen einige Fragen zu stellen:

Erzählt uns doch mal ein bisschen was über eure musikalischen Einflüsse und eurem Hintergrund.

Florian (ich): Geboren anfangs der 80er bin ich in den frühen 90ern mit elektronischer Musik in Kontakt gekommen. Bald einmal, und dies ist heute immer noch der Fall, begann meine Faszination von NYC und French House (oder Filter House sagte man dem eine Zeit lang). Mein Stil wurde sicherlich stark geprägt durch den mehr Techno/Elektronica-orientierte Stil in Europa später. Und, aufgrund meines Freundeskreis', erachte ich Hip Hop (Golden Era bis heute) ebenso als wichtigen Einfluss in meinen Musikgeschmack.

Ben kommt vom Rockigen, er spielte  Schlagzeug in seiner Kindheit und in Bands mit seinen Freunden. Erst später, mit dem Ausgehen in Clubs, begann seine Passion für elektronische Musik. Ben hat ein Faible für melancholische Melodien.

Zusammen ergänzen wir uns perfekt. Wir beide haben ein Faible für cineastische Klänge. Ich bin eher der groovige und Ben der melancholische - dies ergibt einen recht coolen und passenden mix, so finden wir zumindest ;)!

Was macht in euren Augen eine gute Afterhour aus?

Oh wow, dies ist schon eine Weile her. Afterhour haben eigentlich einen schweren Stand - wir gehen mal von einer guten Haupt-Party aus. Daher macht eine gute Afterhour für uns aus, dass es gelingt den Drive und die Stimmung zu verlängern, ja bestenfalls sogar noch zu übertreffen.

Matthias Kunze had his first brush with house music long time ago, in his hometown Halle (Saale). Together with friends, he performed in several off-locations and started to gain interest in DJing. Currently he resides in Hamburg and plays clubs and festivals throughout Germany. The main source of his inspiration is Klangextase, a German podcast station he founded more than a decade ago. Through the years, Matthias has invited a lot of skilled artists across the world to share their music on the platform. In 2018, he went from local to global and ventured out to South Africa where he has played in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Matthias’ sound describes as deep, sometimes melancholic, combined with subtle highlights and a kicking beat, which makes everyone move. His musical journeys are always good for a surprise and leave the audience with a feeling of joy.

Techno is a state of mind that opens the doors to a parallel world.
A world whose atmosphere is composed only of love, sound, and colors, where kings only exist to serve their people and whose only mission is to provide happiness.
