Acid, Chicago and New York House, or the power of Belgian, Dutch or Detroit Techno, Brique Rouge has been churning out releases for 26 years without ever sinking into cynicism, nostalgia or parody. Open minded, Brique Rouge has established itself as a key French label for the distribution of emerging and creative artists already known or totally unknown, from all over the world, who draw their inspiration from the roots of the genre, but also pursue the search for new vibes. David Duriez is known for making House and proper underground electronic music since the beginning of the 90's - 30 years in the music industry, founder and keeper of the [briquerouge] label, home of the best french electronic renegades since 1999, David Duriez is lurking in the shadow of the french Electronic scene, keeping it real and true. Artist in various styles of music, dj and innovator, he's always in search of new ways to distribute and value Electronic Music and always a step ahead. Definitely not just one for the hype.

Since 1994, David released over a hundred records under his name, tens under various pseudonyms, outputs mainly vinyl on the most renowned labels like 2020Vision, Ovum, Systematic, Pokerflat, F Communication, Mobilee, Under the Counter, Stickman, Classic Music Company, Crosstown Rebels, The End, etc .. (the list is long, see Discogs.com to be convinced) and as many remixes for some of the greatest (think Moby, DJ Hell, Telex, Random Factor, Johnny Fiasco, Paul Johnson, Kenny Hawkes or Mr.C).

Founder of the label Brique Rouge in 1999 and a whole galaxy of other labels, he participated in the creation of internationally recognized labels such as Robsoul, Freak n'Chic or Rz Muzik. David has carved out his own niche with his pigeonhole defying Brique Rouge label, and his helping to redefine underground electronic music. Brique Rouge has released deep house, jacking house, tech-house, acid house, vocal anthems and much more... Definitely a label for open-minded people, not stuck in one genre of House.

I can't say I haven't daydreamed about being on Transitions for a long time, having heard John Digweed so many times over the last 18 years, how much of a personal influence he's been. But for it to become a reality is a momentous occasion for me, and an honor. I hope you enjoy.

It's been an exhilarating, nerve-wracking and musically soul-searching month putting together my half of this episode. Trying to fit one's musical embodiment into a little under an hour is never an easy task, especially on such a grand stage. In light of this, I wanted to share with you all something that I have been working on as a reminder of good things to come in 2021. It's the latest edition of my Incandescent series.
