Interlude

Fur Coat’s Oddity imprint seeks to continue its quality musical output. For the thirteenth release of the label, they welcome Esoteric Circle who present a stacked package of Melodic Techno, with two remixes to boot.

Esoteric Circle is born from the minds of two French brothers, Julien and Raphael Piacentino. Bringing their emotions together into a new and innovative sound, they focus on elaborate synth melodies and minimal percussive sounds to create tracks aimed directly at the dance-floor.

The Parisian duo present four original tracks on the EP, the first of which is ¨Odissea¨. Characterised by deep basslines and moving melodic progressions this sets the tone for the EP, transporting you to the deeper moments on the dance-floor. Moving forward “Matina del Amor” offers a faster paced setting, agile percussion programming pushes the track onwards taking the listener with it on its journey.

Lastly “Tomorrow Is In Your Hands” the title track mixes up the offerings. Opting for a two step style beat, this switches the script perfectly, developing synths over the top of the off kilter beat provide an emotive and thought provoking tracks. Lastly “Night Appearance” rounds of the package, a slower and impassioned track which brings set ending moments to mind.

Joining the brothers on the package are Julian Wassermann and Remcord, neither are strangers to the Oddity family and both provide remixes of “Odissea” and “Tomorrow Is In Your Hands” respectively.
Julian’s remix provides a lighter edition to the original, whilst Remcord’s remix offers a darker and deeper sound, both dovetailing on the record nicely. 

Esoteric Circle have Putting forward a strong and soundly compiled EP. An expansive pack, offering a large amount and tying in perfectly with the sound that Oddity has been making its name with.

Gallery is a label without sonic restrictions, a music spot powered by reactions to an array of different sounds. Encapsulating this sentiment is Roy Blues (Ryan D’Sylva), who’s music could be likened to an aerial journey above a stunning landscape. The Melbourne producer changes heights and moods at will, ducking and weaving between a spectrum of feels. 
Be it tastes of euphoria to dark and haunting portrayals, these tracks are deliberate club rollercoasters. With nods from RUFUS DU SOL, DJ Boring, CC: DISCO and Roland Tings plus radio support from Triple J, FBI, RRR, Dublab and NTS it’s become obvious that what this guy is creating, speaks to the electronic community at large. The ‘Brain Wax’ EP is audio with braun, a sweeping electronic experience that’s difficult to ignore. 
With a professional background as a drummer, it's no surprise percussion comes to the fore in the project. With no better example of this than in his live show, where Ryan jumps between his synth station and a full live drum kit in a truly immersive performance. Isolation inspired Ryan to showcase his live prowess with an incredible live stream, professionally filmed with full production from his living room. When we’re allowed back into club spaces, it’ll be scary good to see what Roy Blues has in store. 
The EP curtain raiser ‘Heatwave’ is a hypnotic treatment, a clinic in slow techno. Next up is ‘Flashpoint’, a track purpose built for dance. Interstellar chords dart their way around rising pads and siren combinations while ‘Flashpoint’ does not let up, a record bubbling with adrenaline. Roy’s third instalment and first single ‘Brain Wax’ waxes and wanes, a wailing spell cast by a producer who’s not afraid to tackle obscure tones. This cut’s destined for 
the wee hours. Rounding things out is ‘Supernova’, a winding road of rattling percussion and dense synth play. Imagine a dramatic chase through space and this’d be its score.
The design for GLRY002 comes from prolific Melbourne designer Bradley Pinkerton. Having developed a core following in the Australian underground sphere, Bradley’s designs have since been globally applauded, leading to recent projects with Harry Styles, Kelsey Lu and Justin Bieber. The EP artwork is inspired by rolling textures and blooming flowers. The tracks are audibly rich and billowing which is a strong theme throughout the artwork.

Higher States enters the summer season by welcoming Navar to the label for his debut EP. Through releasing material on Guy J's Lost & Found Records, the Dutch artist emerged in 2014, firmly establishing himself in the world of deep melodic house. Subsequent releases for Cid Inc's Replug Records, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Belgian Events brand EDGE, further solidified Navar's place amongst the genre's elite. Now following a remix of Eric Lune's 'Benji' to begin the year, Navar presents his first original project of 2020 via Roger Martinez's Higher States.

Spread across four tracks, Navar explores a broad spectrum of organic sensibilities on 'High Noon', beginning with the free-flowing tranquillity of 'Moon At The Window'. A bed of broken beats and exotic drums sets the stage for hypno grooves and pixie-like melodies. Transcendent and glowing in equal measure, it's fuzzed out stabs, incandescent harmonies and unpredictability showcases an artist operating at his creative peak. 'Desert Storm' follows suit with a similarly charming quality. Subtle shades and fragmented tones coverage as the narrative evolves, creating a contemplative yet emotive drawl which is sure to resonate on multiple levels.

Beginning the EP's second wave are the dulcet beats of 'Arctic Vibez'. Spacious and smooth, it's a piece built around warm bass tones and luminous cascades. Spiralling overlays strike at opportune moments, blanketing the robust framework onwards to a meditative finale. Rounding out the release is the title selection 'High Noon' which finds Navar flexing the peak time prowess of his studio repertoire. Sitting comfortably between the playful and emotive, it's dusty percussion and bouncy arps bring texture and drive to a brilliant rhythmic theme. Tranquil tones and smooth chord changes marry for an elegant apex, ultimately putting a stamp on this sensational release. Sure to be an important piece in Navar's discography, it's a collection of music which further solidifies his place amongst the progressive house elite, while continuing to forge new sonic blueprints for the future.

Spanish DJ and producer Dosem announces his new album ‘Dream Decoder’, out September 25, with the release of powerful single ‘Tower’.

The first single off his debut Anjunadeep album, 'Tower’ is a high-energy track characteristic of the Spaniard’s progressive techno sound, featuring immense builds of tension and unrelenting acid-infused melodies.

A range of expertly crafted soundscapes that blend atmospheric house and techno, ‘Dream Decoder’ features 15 new and unreleased tracks.
