Since years we would love to do remixes of it, but due to a hard drive crash, unfortunately the original session got lost. We are still working on it, so maybe one day...

Afrilounge – after the tremendous success of their first release on Connaisseur, Eduard Hartter, Richard Rotfuss (aka Richard Liapin) and Markus Liefke (aka Liefko) now team up for a second strike! It has been rather a while since the “Pin&FKO EP”, but the guys haven’t been lazy since then. Their unique DJ-sets all around Europe and their releases on Kassette Records, and especially the “Wasser & Sonne EP” on 8bit, have kept them in quality ravers’ minds.

The Lux Dementia release offers two deep cuts for all aficionados of deep Techno and House. The main track “Lux Dementia” first appeared on our Sonar Promo CD and got licensed straight away by Steve Bug for his upcoming Fabric Mix CD. Afrilounge have developed their style into a more timeless and subtle direction, always keeping their eyes on the dance floor. Not exactly peak time, their music is more like a good friend you can trust when you are dancing at 9am and things are getting charmingly strange around you.  

“Lux Dementia” hits the floor with a warm atmosphere and a heavy kick that keeps you moving. A slow build-up with a heavy motorcity flavor leads to a mindblending break with an addictive grand piano hook. It’s the kind of breakdown that will suck all remaining serotonin out of your brain. 

“Gêne” is the subtler cut on this release. With its fluxionary groove and its meandering synth lines, it creates a feeling of deep melancholic happiness.

With a hectic worldwide touring schedule and the completion of their debut Flying Circus Ibiza residency @ Sankeys, studio time was scarce for the boys.  In the few weeks they had back home in Barcelona, Anthony and Luca put their heart and soul into the creation of the Excuse My Wilderness EP. A process that took over 6 months to complete. Superb production with a smooth spread on the mix. The breakdown takes you to a melting pool, which gets lifted with Lee’s signature bass. Bringing all the melodic parts back in on the build-up. 

3. Ranj Kaler Remix
Progressive breaks guru begins the remix with his signature sound with well programmed and tight drums. Building the track with new hypnotic elements and retaining some of the original parts. Nice deep emotional breakdown that creates lovely atmospherics with floaty synths and haunting organ chords. Very cool production that will have you listening right to the end, while lifting your spirit and keeping you engaged on this electronic journey.

Ninja Tune's Counter imprint meets Modeselektor's Monkeytown to release RY X and Frank Wiedemann aka Âme, remixed by Matt “Radio Slave” Edwards and Thomas “Cagedbaby” Gandey (the latter two also now known as Matom for their more Kosmische output), on an 11 minute deep'n'meaningful dark-club epic? It's such a big-name pile-up, it was always going to either be lowest common denominator or highest common factor; thankfully, though, it really has given us the best from all involved. This is one of those magic tunes where you keep thinking nothing's happening, then suddenly you realise it's risen up around you to become all-enveloping, and before you know it you're compelled to take it from the top... and not just once either. This needs a health warning, it's so addictive.
