In what one could probably call "the lost remixes", we unearthed two unpublished cuts which fell to the roadside for any number of inane reasons that we have forgotten since. What we didn't forget, however, is how damn fine these reworks are. Take for example MICHAEL MAYER's take on KAITO's "Behind My Life", an obvious highlight on both Kaito's EP and full-length offerings last year, but as the rest of his work not really lending itself to radical remix treatments - the typical ambience of a Kaito track is too delicate, it seems, for the good ole "let's stick a fatter bass drum underneath it and be gone" routine. That's when you realize how masterful a remixer Michael Mayer actually is, turning the epic soundscapes of the original inside out and into a relentlessly grooving house stomper. The melodic break is where it's at on this one, giving them punters ample space to get truly lost in sound. The flipside holds its own set of surprises with SASCHIENNE's ingenious boogie reboot of MOHN's "Saturn" off their 2012 debut album. Originally a kind of kraut-infused synth jam with all the time in the world for the contemplation of infinite truths and the possibility of space travel, it has now become a tightly knit space cowboy opera full of special effects and exciting laser shootouts. Because you know what they say: a vocoder a day keeps the doctor away.

Exclusive Dominik Marz & Yannick Labbé 'Love Takes Two'

Vice Versa is Dominik Marz's latest EP and about to be released on his mother ship label Belters. The four tracker comes with two original versions, Vice Versa and Faces, from Marz himself as well as two collaborations with long time friend and Berliner Yannick Labbé, who's known for multi-faceted music on labels such as OR*S or Permanent Vacation among others. The B1 respectively the first out of two tracks of the collaboration's called Love Takes Two and starts with a dry yet driving bass line, which is enriched with a single chord in the course before the track enters a new stage, namely that of mental-influencing piece, in which the sequences of chords infix a state of trance in the listener's mind maintaining the tension until the end of it. Love Takes Two is about a relationship at a musical and interpersonal level, each ensnaring and depending on each other. 

Dominik Marz's EP 'Vice Versa' will be released on Belters on February 21st, 2020.
