It was great to witness the outpouring of love and respect for Gil Scott-Heron over the weekend. 

A true innovator and inspiration to so many, I wanted something to play out over the weekend and came across this forgotten classic whilst digging through the collection.

Even though it has very little to do with Gil Scott-Herons usual production style being a house track (produced by Paul Waller) built on a selection of samples from classic records including Mr Fingers 'Can You Feel It', 808 State's "Pacific State' and vocal snippets from First Choice's "Let No Man Put Asunder', there's a rawness to the production that's totally fitting to Gil Scott-Herons apocalyptic tale.

First up, "Outer Acid" delivers up a Minimal-Space-Acid flavor. Next, "Qwazars" continues the Space motif with a Minimal-Tech touch. "Nodyahed" moves toward a Dark Club Bounce with a dash of Tribal flavor. "Aether" offers up a more late-night Ambient-Space-House flavor. IljusWifmo are two young guys from Sydney, Australia - Max and Taylor - who have recently started making music and they're just naturally good at it. Sharing the perspective with many contemporary Australian producers, their wish and challenge is to move to Europe and make a living out of music here - the 'hub for dance music culture'. 

Laz is their debut EP and it features 4 fun tracks, some of which could remind you of another producer with a successful EP on Clubwerks - SHALT. We welcome them to the family and we're confident they have a bright road ahead.

IljusWifmo - Frenetic

Despite his direct descent to the "tape throb" lineage, longtime All City affiliate Buz Ludzha (aka The Cyclist) now looks to break new sonic ground with his latest Basslines for Life EP (following on from his 2014 "Basslines for Death"). These four original tracks play on the EP's title with gritty drums, factory line rhythms, synth decay and motorised bass lines – marking his first venture with LA label 100% Silk. "Vibradreams" (which also closed Silk's Upfront last year) exemplifies the new musical realm Buz Ludzha is exploring: cassette textures with pitch-bent acid squelches and synth melodies streaked with gain.

Keep eyes peeled for Basslines for Life dropping soon via 100% Silk.

'Come As You Are' features trippy, meandering synths and merges the line between house and techno beautifully. The rolling drops are well-timed and paired nicely with hefty slabs of percussion. Feeling this one.
