Believe it or not but Uncanny Valley looks back on five years of releasing records this summer. There was a bit of discussion on how to celebrate this occasion properly. Instead of just turning into the typical Greatest hits-routine the label heads Albrecht, Carl, Conrad and Philipp decided to look back and forth. So, besides a record with completely new material there will be a record that unleashes four tracks from the vaults of these five years. As you can imagine, there are lots of tracks that are good too but doesn’t fit on the record in question because of the whole record’s atmosphere or just because there’s not enough space on the vinyl. But it would be a shame if those tunes stay unreleased forever. So, here’s “Uncanny Valley: Five Years On Parole - gems from the vaults”!

The name Hugo Mari might not ring a bell just yet, but we’ve got a feeling this is about to change real soon. He’s released a handful of EP’s under his former alias Books on Omena and XVI including his own edit series on the latter label (check out his killer track ‘in the groove or his jazzy deep house collaboration with Zodiac called ‘Feel it in my Bones’). Considering he’s also remixed well known artists like afrobeat legend Dele Sosimi and grime master Trim, you might share our view of this amazingly talented and versatile producer. Russian native, Anton Bogomolov aka Scruscru is back at it following his super successful ‘Romantik EP’ released on Minor Notes Recordings in 2018. Scruscru liberates listeners with soulful experimental beats and an array of notes, keys and sounds that come together with a glorious garage beat brewing just underneath the surface. Tranquil vocals lace the 2-step school house beat. It is safe to say, this records has been released at the perfect time of year, with its bouncy twinkling uplifting musical emotions, this EP will no doubt be forming part of my summertime playlist.
