Ella Janes is an independent singer/songwriter whose music feels like a conversation - tender, unguarded, and deeply human. With her poetic storytelling and delicate fingerstyle guitar, she draws listeners into moments of reflection, weaving experiences into songs that linger long after they’ve been heard.

Growing up in Winchester (UK), Ella found her earliest audiences while busking on the streets of her hometown, her timeless sound echoing the influences of artists like Simon & Garfunkel and Françoise Hardy. Her lyrics, shaped by a love of language and a curiosity about life’s quiet corners, speak of change, belonging, and finding beauty in the in-between spaces. 

In 2018, Ella joined Jools Holland on his UK tour, performing in venues across the country, including a milestone appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The following year, her debut album The Hypnotist came to life through a successful Kickstarter campaign, supported by a community of listeners she’d met through her travels, busking days, and time immersed in Berlin’s folk scene.

Released in 2020, The Hypnotist was recorded in collaboration with long-time collaborators Hugh Fielding and Thomas White. The album is a tender exploration of heartache, healing, and life’s quiet turning points, wrapped in songs that feel both personal and timeless.

In 2024, Ella unveiled three new singles that reflect a natural evolution in her sound - thoughtful and tender, yet quietly assured. With more releases to follow in 2025, her work continues to trace the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength, promising an ongoing journey of stories yet to unfold.
