Just the Modulus (Modal?) 002. 

Onboard sequencer loops and animator layers sync'd to midi clock from the DAW.  There's lots of reverb on this, but no  delay, even though it sounds like it. That effect comes entirely from the animator driving oscillator note offsets and letting decaying notes overlap each other.

("Turussa" is a cover version with Finnish lyrics of "West End Girls", a song by British pop duo Pet Shop Boys. Written by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe,) 

B-side: Maamme
(Finland's national anthem. The music was composed by Fredrik Pacius and was performed for the first time on 13 May 1848. The current Finnish text is usually attributed to the 1889 translation of Ensign Stål by Paavo Cajander, but in fact originates from the 1867 translation by Julius Krohn.)



Mies ja Elämä: Turussa (12 Inch Mix)

Using oscillator sync to bring out odd overtones in some of the 002's vocal-like waves.  The ambling sequence is from my Evolver, with a little JP-8080 in the background, too. 

As usual, this is a jam recorded in several takes, edited and EQ'd in Reaper but, for a change, the reverb is external and comes from my old LXP-15.

Chant

A frenetic sketch that grew out of some 002 noodlings.  In fact everything is 002 apart from the drum loop which is from a Sonic Potions LXR.  

I bought the LXR just after I bought a Machinedrum.  They're both very deep and in quite different ways but given the reputation of the Machinedrum, even the early ones like mine, it's interesting that the LXR was the first to appear on a recording.

The voice belongs to the late Richard Feynman talking in 1974 about 'Cargo Cult' science.  The full source is here: https://youtu.be/yvfAtIJbatg.  He makes some great points and, sadly, I feel they're even more valid today.  

When I grabbed the audio, Youtube stated that the video was licensed as "Creative Commons Attribution licence (reuse allowed)". 

Long Time Coming Back

So beta testing Moog's new model 15 app meant I could at last try and emulate early TD's Chris Franke sequencer sound using midiSequencer.

This is an early audio of that session, will share some later versions in the near future.

It's not just pure model 15 - uses echoPad, Conv Reverb too - all in AUM.
