A recording of me playing a piano rendition of the main theme for Final Fantasy XIII-2 (I never played the game!), sung by Mai Fukui and composed by Koichi Tabo.

Canada’s new Liberal government must soon decide whether to follow through on plans to replace Correctional Investigator Howard Sapers. 

Earlier this year, the former Conservative government gave Sapers a temporary contract pending his replacement. 

Since 2004, Sapers has challenged the government’s treatment of Aboriginal offenders and inmates with mental illness. 

In this podcast, he joins CMAJ reporter Lauren Vogel to reflect on his term as prison watchdog, solutions to the justice system’s health worker shortage, and next steps for better inmate health.

"City of Tears" - from the official Hollow Knight Piano Collections

Performed by Matthew Law on a Korg SP-250 digital piano, recorded with stereo cables into a Zoom H1 recorder, with slight deviations from the original arrangement.

One of my favorite songs (composed by Christopher Larkin) from the beautiful and immersive game Hollow Knight, developed and published by Team Cherry. This rendition is from the Hollow Knight Piano Collections, arranged by David Peacock, and published/released by Materia Collective.

City of Tears [Hollow Knight Piano Collections] 🎹

“White Palace,” composed by Christopher Larkin for the beautiful and immersive Metroidvania indie game, Hollow Knight, which I had the privilege of completing on the Nintendo Switch during quarantine. The piano rendition of this piece was arranged by David Peacock. 

This particular piece is played in the background of one of my favorite — and most difficult — areas of the game (eponymously named).
