The Huntleys & Palmers label has become an intermittent yet worthy accompaniment to the Glasgow, London and beyond-based parties it grew out of, introducing the wider world to the charms of artists such as Auntie Flo and SOPHIE. Given how busy the Huntleys & Palmers event schedule is (their Autumn programme at Plastic People looks very interesting) it’s little surprise the label has become something of a secondary concern; however, the recent Highlife edits offshoot recently emerged, and now news of their winter release schedule arrives commencing with the label debut of DJs Pareja.

Mariano Caloso & Diego Irasusta are no strangers to H&P having played their events previously; their forthcoming 10″ for the label presents a further extension of the working relationship forged between Huntleys & Palmers and Cómeme, with the former having previously issued music from the latter’s Chilean artist Alejandro Paz. Due out next month, the two track Steps 10″ should please fans of DJs Pareja’s output for Cómeme, apparently offering up “oddball house” and a title track equally grounded in Kwaito and UK Funky. A bonus digital release of the B-side comes from the pair’s fellow Buenos Aires residents Carisma, who themselves will be releasing through Huntleys & Palmers at a future date along with DrumTalk and Mamacita.

This brilliant remix was originally done as a secret weapon for Subb-an, Noir and a few close dj-friends to play out and surprise the crowds around the globe.
After handing out private copies to a few selected djs we ended up with enormous support on this remix from:
Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Radioslave, Art Department, Pete Tong, Dubfire,
Matthew Dear, Tiefschwarz, Butch, Gorge, Jimpster, Sasha,Reboot, Deetron,
Tim Green, 2000 And One, Catz n' Dogz, Matt Tolfrey, Ryan Crosson and
Nic Fanciulli.

At DC10's closing party at Ibiza the Subb-an Remix was played no less than 3 times and the crowd was ecstatic each time. And after the YouTube video of Seth Troxler & Jamie Jones playing the track that specific night surfaced we have now ended up with a huge buzz and demand for this track to be released.

Darkness Falls return with this extensive and comprehensive remix edition of ‘Alive In Us’ on hfn music – featuring an exclusive new track as well as previously unreleased gold dust from the Danish duo. 

Back in 2011 Darkness Falls first emerged from the ever-fertile Copenhagen music scene and enchanted our hearts. Vocalist and keyboard player Josephine Philip and guitarist and bass player Ina Lindgreen managed somehow to concoct a heady brew of spacey pop, road-trip melancholia, and woozy, sexy atmospherics that hinted at magical things. Their debut long player confirmed out suspicions - ‘Alive In Us’ is a blissful trip into a uniquely modern kaleidoscope of emotions and styles – moody and spellbinding, mysterious and somehow heart-warming. 

Fast-forward to 2013 and the duo are gracing us with a Remix Edition package that fully reignites our love affair. Kicking off with the sublime new and exclusive ‘A Dream Within a Dream’, Darkness Falls sound as deliriously beautiful as ever – haunted and desolate yet passionate and driven.
 
Elsewhere the remix edition brings us instrumental versions of some of the stand out tracks from ‘Alive in Us’, including ‘Strangers Coming’, ‘Before the Light Takes Us’, and ‘100 Meter Mind Dash’. 

We are also treated to stunning reworks of ‘Timeline’ by some of the hottest names in electronica  - Com Truise, Pional and Sun Glitters all take the original into fresh new directions.
