Hello friends, it’s been too long.

Life has been quite the journey—full of twists, turns, ups, and downs—more than I could have ever imagined (as I’m sure many of you can relate). After a tumultuous few months, I’m happy to be back in the studio, creating music and rediscovering the joy in the process once again.

It feels like my life force—my soul, my spirit, whatever you want to call it—is slowly returning. I owe this resurgence in large part to those closest to me. Yes, there has been a lot of personal growth and work to get to this point, but I can say with absolute certainty that I wouldn’t be here without my loving family, friends, and communities.

Music is meant to be shared, and this mix is a reflection of that. Many of the tracks featured came to me because someone thought to share them—whether in the studio jamming, out at a club or festival, or simply over a text or social media message. To everyone who has ever sent a song my way—thank you. Please don’t stop! 

Throughout this recent chapter of my life, I’ve found solace, comfort, and peace in the company of loved ones—none more than my darling wife, Stacey. Your patience, grace, wisdom, kindness, and compassion have allowed me to slow my racing mind, body, and soul, to welcome the light in, and to realize that the love I’ve been searching for has been with me all along. I just needed to remember where to look.

You all make my life what it is, and I am truly honored to have you in it. Thank you for being a part of this journey.

It's always a tall order remixing a fan favorite, but we have taken on the challenge with a new EP of remixes of Sam Davies' classic "Sunbound." A song that witnessed radio support from the likes of Roger Shah, Kyau & Albert, and Cosmic Gate, Sam's original mix proved to be one of the highlights of our 2016 release schedule. We are thrilled to present new interpretations by veteran contributors AWD and Universal Solution, both English artists with tremendous artistic talents.

Kicking off the release, Birmingham product AWD contributes his third remix to our imprint in as many years. A high-octane groove is met by a variety of rapturous synths, all of which offer stunning variations on the original theme. The ethereal vocal stabs from the original version dot the colorful sonic landscape as well. Following a relatively subdued main breakdown, in which the themes unwind and then regenerate, the euphoric main chords are unleashed upon the listener with feverish force and excitement.

Perfectly complementing AWD's trance-influenced, peak-hour interpretation, fellow British veteran Universal Solution offers a deeper and more dream-like progressive house rendering. One of Universal Solution's great compositional gifts is his ability to blend "acoustic" drums into the rhythm section of his tracks; the layered percussive elements in this inspired remix are especially mesmerizing. Meanwhile, a variety of equally hypnotic melodic themes slowly crescendo throughout the track, leading to a thrilling aural climax, in which myriad sonic layers mellifluously coalesce.

Notes On Letting Go

Multi-platinum selling producer, composer, musician, and DJ, Matt Lange challenges categorization; equipped with an instinctual ear for creating music and an insatiable drive to explore the aural spectrum.

Lange’s career began working alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Brian Transeau (BT), co-producing the album "These Hopeful Machines," earning him a Grammy Award-nomination in 2011. Matt then went on to co-write and produce Glenn Morrison’s "Goodbye (feat. Islove)" which was nominated as Dance Recording of the Year at the 2015 Juno Awards and later hit double platinum. Most recently, Lange was a producer on the Thirty Seconds To Mars album "AMERICA," which debuted #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

An adept music composer, and sound designer, Lange has created and licensed works for the blockbuster films Ready Player One, Blade Runner 2049, Deadpool 2, The Fast & Furious 8, and Transformers: The Last Knight along with video game franchises Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and DOTA II.

As an artist, Matt Lange has released records with some of the most influential electronic dance music labels in the industry such as Anjunabeats, mau5trap, and Armada and has performed across esteemed venues and festivals like Output, Sound Nightclub, Ministry of Sound, TomorrowWorld, EDC, and SXSW. Unburdened by genre and trends, the signature of Lange’s work is the relentless devotion to pushing music into the future.

Matt is also the host of Tap Tempo, a podcast which features insightful interviews with peers and collaborators ranging from A-list composers to DJs and includes artists from all backgrounds.
