It has been a decade since the world was graced with the first release from progressive maestro Matt Fax. The Frenchman quickly ascended the ranks of global producer / DJs, establishing himself over the course of ten years as a mainstay in the world of progressive dance music, garnering a worldwide following in the process. In that time he has released two artist albums, a host of impressive singles and remixes, taken the reins on Colorize’s ‘Colorscapes’ compilation and toured the world from Los Angeles to Amsterdam to Tokyo.
‘X’ is an exceptional project marking a marvellous ten years for Matt Fax that features twenty of his favourite originals and remixes. We see classic releases on labels like Colorize, Anjunabeats, Armada and more, and remixes for renowned acts like Ferry Corsten and Lane 8. It comes to you in the format of two exemplary retrospective DJ mixes that highlight a musician who has indubitably come into his own. Also included are ten of the most sought-after unreleased IDs from Matt Fax’s sets over the past decade, all of which were diligently finalised by Matt Fax over the past few months to make this release a spectacular celebration of his work.
It’s been a sensational decade for Matt Fax and we can’t wait to see what the next one has in store.

In the two years since his last original outing on the label, the unforgettable “Beautiful Life”, Martin Roth has developed his deep hypnotic sounds on labels like Poesie Musik and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat. He returns to Anjunadeep with “Mel / Maya”, two dark, techno influenced gems showcasing Martin’s ear for spellbinding club music. 

“Mel” is a surging monster of a track, driven by huge rumbling low end beneath subtle swirling melodies. Combining dark, techy elements with  classic progressive textures, “Mel” is a fine example of the current underground sound in Martin’s hometown of Berlin.

A stand out on Anjunadeep 06, “Maya” is another moody piece of house music, primed for a 4AM dancefloor. Big thudding percussion masks a gentle melody that ebbs and flows into an epic breakdown, packed full of atmospheric rising pads.

On remix duties are two emerging talents Peter Pardeike and Whomi. Tackling “Mel” is Whomi, who has made waves recently with impressive remixes of Ultraista and Soul Button. He takes a minimal approach, building from murky beginnings into an incredible crescendo throughout the breakdown. A serious dancefloor weapon in the right hands!

Following a hugely supported release on Innervisions with Marcus Worgull, fellow Berliner Peter Pardeike turns his hand to “Maya" in distinctive fashion. Stripping back to focus on bassline and piano, the track takes a leftfield turn into arpeggio territory. Another memorable moment on a highly anticipated comeback EP.

Antic, AKA Dom Furlonge, is back with his ambitious ‘Jura EP’. His second Anjunadeep release of 2018, the ‘Jura EP’ sees Furlonge weave his own vocals amongst a rich tapestry of organic sounds and mellow percussion.

Title track ‘Jura’ features a blissful progressive rhythm layered with soothing vocals and melodic keys, whilst ‘Forever Young’ raises the energy, laying a bouncy bassline against a shuffling breakbeat. The EP closes with ‘Turnout’, an acid-like arpeggiated journey peppered with Furlonge’s haunting vocal chops.

Multi-platinum selling producer, composer, musician, and DJ, Matt Lange challenges categorization; equipped with an instinctual ear for creating music and an insatiable drive to explore the aural spectrum.

Lange’s career began working alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Brian Transeau (BT), co-producing the album "These Hopeful Machines," earning him a Grammy Award-nomination in 2011. Matt then went on to co-write and produce Glenn Morrison’s "Goodbye (feat. Islove)" which was nominated as Dance Recording of the Year at the 2015 Juno Awards and later hit double platinum. Most recently, Lange was a producer on the Thirty Seconds To Mars album "AMERICA," which debuted #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

An adept music composer, and sound designer, Lange has created and licensed works for the blockbuster films Ready Player One, Blade Runner 2049, Deadpool 2, The Fast & Furious 8, and Transformers: The Last Knight along with video game franchises Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and DOTA II.

As an artist, Matt Lange has released records with some of the most influential electronic dance music labels in the industry such as Anjunabeats, mau5trap, and Armada and has performed across esteemed venues and festivals like Output, Sound Nightclub, Ministry of Sound, TomorrowWorld, EDC, and SXSW. Unburdened by genre and trends, the signature of Lange’s work is the relentless devotion to pushing music into the future.

Matt is also the host of Tap Tempo, a podcast which features insightful interviews with peers and collaborators ranging from A-list composers to DJs and includes artists from all backgrounds.
