A-Plus is a Jamaican/American musician, rapper and producer. He is one of the founding members of the Oakland, California- based underground hip hop group Souls of Mischief, and, with Souls of Mischief, a part of the eight-person, alternative hip hop collective, the Hieroglyphics. Oatmeal Queen is a project by keyboardist, vocalist, and songwriter Paloma Pendharkar. While on tour in August 2019 with a group of noodle enthusiasts, her constant love and need for oatmeal was brought to the forefront, and she was thus dubbed Oatmeal Queen by one of her tour mates (Brayson Wong of Royal Oak and Chersea). She rarely goes a morning without a warm bowl of porridge or a jar of overnight oats. 

Oatmeal is a comfort food; a heart-warming and dependable source of sustenance that fuels OQ’s songwriting. Her quirky alternative pop sound is characterized by bouncing between tender piano ballads and playful synth-driven anthems, all bound together by raw emotion and vulnerability. Ultimately, OQ hopes that her music provides you with a warm space to look inward and feel deeply, just like a warm bowl of oats.

About Paloma:

Paloma attended Selkirk College in Nelson, BC from 2013-2015 as a piano major. While in Nelson, she met many wonderful musicians and had the chance to hone her harmonizing and co-writing skills while performing as half of the duo Tenise and Paloma. 

A versatile musician, Paloma has played on cruise ships around the world and plays with various Vancouver-based artists including Antoinette and Chersea. She also plays with projects including classical crossover group Vivace as well as Mooncoin Productions’ Celine Dion, Sway, and ABRA Cadabra tribute shows.

As a songwriter, she has participated in workshops such as the YVR Songshop (2015) and the Vancouver Folk Music Festival’s Young Artist Program (2015). In that same year, Paloma was featured in the Keys to the Streets video series. In a Vancouver Sun article, Adam Sharp, the director of the series said that her song "We Live Here" “could easily serve as something of a theme tune for [the] series”. Furthermore, her song “Bite Your Tongue” was selected to be featured on the bi-annually curated Spring 2019 Bitch Tapes Mixtape benefitting the Downtown Eastside Women’s Shelter. Her self-produced EP “For Me,” was released on October 4th, 2019.
