Antoni Maiovvi is an artist like few others. “Knights of New Haven” summarises his unique ability and unparalleled range. This return to the Bordello reflects the influence of the West Coast Sound of the Netherlands as well as that machine music of his adopted home of the U.S. “Later Not Lately” bends bars above a throbbing kick, hi-hats ruffling the clean arcs of string. Echoes of Chicago and Detroit penetrate the EP. Melting melodies fold and oscillate under the crashing cymbals of “Slack Blabbath”, staggered synthlines jolted by tight percussion patterns. A brother-in-arms opens the flip, Danny Wolfers drafted in under his Legowelt moniker to turn his magic to “Later Not Lately”. Undulating undertones are sliced by serrated snares before a sordid TB303 is unsheathed, Wolfers’ soulful and squalid retelling of the original. “The Madness in the Method” closes. Fizzing static blurs drum patterns, a taut note piercing the dense bass fog. Teetering between the profound and the profane, Maiovvi pivots his horror disco trademark sound with driving house drums and devil-may-care grandeur. An EP of epic proportions.

Allison Graves is a 20 year old singer, songwriter and naturalist from New England who has created a powerful, breathy debut that sounds aged and well loved, like an old home, with dogs barking in the background and kids playing in the yard. Allison Graves' rich sense of melody and harmony underscores the depth of the work. 

Written and recorded across six months and two coasts, with a secondhand guitar and a broken laptop, I Still Look For The Mountains draws inspiration from many wells including Adrianne Lenker and Bon Iver. As if Graves' debut was a long lost reissue from Joe Boyd's Witchseason catalog, this album is also reminiscent of Nick Drake and Vashti Bunyan. Highly recommended to Imprec fans of Kurt Weisman, Diane Cluck, Kimya Dawson, Asa Irons/Swaan Miller. 

Opening with a brassy modular synth sequence and layered vocals, Allison Graves immediately establishes a vibe ever-present throughout I Still Look For The Mountain's duration.  Graves' songwriting pins down big, all-encompassing feelings and experiences that follow us all through our lives, and to tries and make sense of the profoundly unexplainable joys and sorrows of human existence. 

This CDR edition is limited to 100 copies with a label hand drawn by Allison Graves. A CD/LP edition will be available later this year.

“Pride or Die” isn’t just another charity album, it’s a defiant response to Hungary’s escalating crackdown on LGBTQ+ rights. In March 2025, the government weaponized its assembly laws, imposing draconian restrictions on public demonstrations under the thinly veiled guise of "order." The amendments single out Pride events, slapping participants and organizers with crippling fines while empowering police to surveil crowds with invasive facial recognition. This isn’t just bureaucratic overreach, it’s a deliberate assault on visibility, following earlier attacks like the 2020 gender recognition ban and the 2021 censorship of queer content. The message is clear: dissent won’t be tolerated, and civil liberties are disposable.

But the fight isn’t over. Dalmata Daniel and 34 artists – both Hungarian and international – have turned rage into resistance, crafting a compilation that’s as unapologetic as it is necessary. Every track is a middle finger to oppression, blending solidarity with raw defiance. The album’s proceeds will be donated to the Budapest Pride Foundation (https://budapestpride.hu/), proving that while laws can be rewritten, solidarity can’t be silenced. This isn’t just about music; it’s about survival. If the government thinks fear will win, they’ve underestimated the power of a community that refuses to disappear.

A veteran of Skylax, Bordello A Parigi, Italo Moderni, Les Yeux Orange, and Dalmata Daniel itself, Maiovvi fuses Electro Disco’s pulse with cinematic depth, crafting a sonic rebellion. Every beat reinforces the compilation’s call to resist, turning dance floors into battlegrounds for queer solidarity.

Antoni Maiovvi is the alias of British composer A.D. Goodfellow, a prolific figure in the retro-electronic and horror-synth scene. Active since 2006, Maiovvi’s music fuses italo, synthwave, and cinematic soundscapes, often described as soundtracks for films that don’t exist. Born in Bristol, later based in Berlin, and now New Haven, Connecticut, his work draws from horror masters like John Carpenter and Fabio Frizzi, while pushing boundaries with analog textures and dark ambient moods.

He co-founded Giallo Disco Records in 2012, a key platform for horror-inspired electronic music. His albums-like Avrokosm, Driftmusic, Psychonaut, and Ultrademonic-span club-ready cuts to eerie, narrative-driven compositions. Maiovvi has also scored several indie films, including Yellow: A Neo Giallo and Housewife, showcasing his cinematic range.

With over 35 albums and countless EPs, Maiovvi remains a cult icon in electronic music-blending vintage horror, club aesthetics, and futuristic storytelling into a unique sonic signature.
