Last month Definition:Music brought you Josh Butlers brilliant ‘Sideways Acid’ EP, showing us that the House producer knows exactly what he’s doing. Now, we’re back with remixes! First up is none other than Kris Wadsworth’s ‘Strange Intuition’ remix of ‘Sideways Acid’, putting a dark spin on it. Deep and heavy bass with his brand of vocal treatment under a siren-like pad creating loads of deep-night energy to get dance floors sweating. Next up is Frag Maddin taking the original further and putting another dose of grit into the already very acid track. He knows the roots of the genre and uses them to the tracks advantage and adding another level of energy. Lastly, and only available for those who are lucky enough to receive our promo’s is Definition’s very own remix. Stripping the track down to its essentials, the remix captures the retro spirit finely while keeping it bare bones acid house.

Hot on the heels of the A-Sides Volume 5 compilation, Enrico Sangiuliano makes his return to Drumcode with his highly anticipated EP ‘Moon Rocks’. The heavy hitting four track EP shines a light on Sangiuliano’s tight, thundering production skills. The hoover heavy lead track ‘Moon Rocks’ is packed with booming percussion, intricate synths and brooding crescendos. The EP encapsulates Sangiuliano’s wide spectrum of sounds ranging from the fat bass line of ‘Moon Rocks’ to the more delicate harmonies shown within the ‘Dutch Kiss’ mixes whilst ‘Ghettoblaster’ sits somewhere in between.

Max (Italy) is making his debut on Younan Music's unstoppably hot new B-Sides series, and we couldn't be happier that he did. Max's Girl/Mind ep is an explosive main room tech house release!

'Girl' shows Max's ability to masterfully make use of 90's 'MTV's The Grind' style breaks, while adding infections vocals and a rumbling bass line to ensure a groove that keeps rolling and building into a full-fledged banger.

'Mind' is a homage of sorts to 90s NYC deep house with piano chords, analogue bass stabs, a vocal to kill for, and some proper jack groves. This track works a packed dance floor as well as it does your local sleazy basement affair.

Matt McLarrie delivers a stellar remix of 'Mind', by flipping the original into a big room house floor killer paired nicely with an acid twist sure to send raves into overdrive.

Late October will see Dutch artist Man With No Shadow deliver his 'Drumfeld' EP via the long standing 100% Pure imprint, accompanied by a remix from Copy Paste Soul.

Dutch producer and DJ Man With No Shadow's production career has been steadily evolving over the past few years since stepping out of events to pursue his own music, since marking his debut on Shinedoe and 2000 and One's Intacto in 2013 he's gone on to remix Copy Paste Soul on his 2Swords label and release two EP's for Tom Budden's ALiVE Recordings. Here though we see Man With No Shadow step up with a new EP for 2000 and One's other label 100% Pure, one of Amsterdam's leading imprints founded in 1993.

Opening is the title-track 'Drumfeld' in which Man With No Shadow treats us to powerful drums further fuelled by a vacillating low-end drive, while raw dub hits and sporadic vocal hums further fuel the heady groove. 'Asteriks' follows and takes a more stripped-back percussive feel with delayed marimba hits subtly evolving alongside dusty drums sounds and grainy atmospherics throughout.

UK artist Copy Paste Soul then steps in to rework 'Drumfeld' next, putting his unique spin on things via choppy bass stabs, sweeping synths and an ever-evolving dynamism before a third and final original 'Double Dub' closes the package, again employing a groove-driven feel via energetic stab sequences and crunchy percussion.

Premiere: Noncompliant 'More Than Surviving'

A work 12 months in the making, Adam Beyer continues his exciting series of collaborative EPs, teaming up with heavy-hitters Pig&Dan for an multi-faceted four-tracker.

Chances are up if you spied Adam Beyer in an airport departure lounge over the past 12 months, he’d have his head buried in his laptop, immersed in creating sound sketches. A long-time fan of collaborations, the Drumcode chief has been on an inspiring streak of form lately, teaming up with the likes of Mark Reeve, Dense & Pika and now Pig&Dan. The results have been compelling, to say the least. 

In trademark perfectionist Beyer style, the title track ‘Capsule’ – a shimmering slice of techno - involved “around 15 different versions” the track rigorously road tested by the Swede and featured in episodes of Drumcode Radio to test dancefloor reactions, before finally getting the sign off.  ‘In Love’ is a big room techno groover, driven by crisp drums and the kind of evocative vocal effect that’ll have hairs standing on ends. ‘Atmosfear’ is true to its name, centered on a menacing synth line and gritty percussion, its deep kicks and subterranean bass combining superbly to create a heady dancefloor brew. ‘We Are E’ is propelled by a catchy synth hook and a classic call-to-arms vocal, which tips its cap to the artists’ shared love of classic UK rave.

We’re about to end March and elrow Music is doing it celebrating big time, as this compilation marks our label’s 100th release! Being a huge landmark as it is, there is nothing better than doing it in honor of one of the hugest weeks for the electronic music industry: Miami’s Winter Music Conference. Opening this 12 track compilation we have ‘Vibrations (Original Mix)’ by Estonian twin bros Bombossa Brothers, a strong, physical track, with heavy percussion, a great vocal line, perfect for putting some energy in Miami’s dancefloors. It is followed by ‘Acid Vibes’, another banger by Cristian Merino, a track with a perfect structure for any moment, with an amazing vocal loop going all along the track and great acid effects. Then we get to the real deal of this record: Eskuche & Mirko Di Florio’s ‘Out Of Time (Original Mix)’, a truly outstanding work by this pair, especially the extraterrestrial synth line that goes all along the song, beside its wonderful FX and soft percussion that will make the caribbean crowds go crazy. The next highlight of the comp is Javi Bora’s ‘Okay Girl (Original Mix)’, a track with a sexy male vocal line, which fills it with a lustful vibe, completed with an amazing percussion work, a great inspiration for Miami’s great electronic week. Another great work is Hauswerk’s ‘Bass To Mouth (Original Mix)’, a track that has a firm groovy sound that you will immediately associate with elrow’s sound signature, along powerful vocals and a slight touch of obscurity, a banger by own right. Although we also have to note Nu Sky’s ‘Eivissa (Original Mix)’, a song that brings us back to Ibiza and the summer season with its amazing Balearic sounds. The comp closes with ‘Clap (Original Mix)’ by Vangelis Kostoxenakis, a playful and carnivalesque work by the Greek, with a strong percussion work, great melodies and sound FX. All in all one of the most complete comps by elrow Music so far, touching a great variety of vanguard tech house sounds. A great way to celebrate both WMC and elrow Music’s 100th release landmark! Thanks for being with us during this journey!

As you are about to read, I have not paid for a professional bio and I am not going to talk about myself in the third person. I am a beard shaker from Glasgow, Scotland where I produce deep, chunky, jazzy, tribal, spiritual vibrations. I am either in control of the music or strutting about the dance floor like a confused flamingo mixed with a nervous spring onion. You may need good quality drugs to enjoy my music - poor quality drugs may also work.

My vibrations have found their way onto some of the most respected underground labels in the world – Elrow Music, KMS Records, Nite Grooves (King Street Sounds), Great Stuff (VA), Material Series, Simma Black, Madtech (MTDL), Toolroom (Ibiza VA), iRecords, InHouse, Flashmob, Younan Music and more. I also co-own record label Cueca Recordings with Jonathan David (CAN).

My track "Jazz Kneecaps" reached #1 in the Traxsource Deep House charts in 2018 and I was in the top 100 best selling deep house producers on Traxsource in 2018, 2019 & 2020. I have officially remixed Wally Lopez, Darren Emerson (Underworld), Kevin Yost, Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax, Saeed Younan & Charles Ramirez. 

My music has also been remixed by heavy hitters Joeski, Demuir, Ellroy and Hauswerks. I now have 4 vinyl releases with 2 on Material Series alongside Danny Serrano, Raffa FL, and Eskuche & Nu Sky. My mum turned one of them into a cake stand and another one into a clock. Probably make more money selling them that way.
