Landhouse & Raddantze (@landhouse-raddantze) presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr.124

Für unsere #124 zeichnen sich diesmal die beiden Herren Landhouse&Raddantze aus Karlsruhe verantwortlich.

Seit nunmehr 4 Jahren gehen die beiden Freunde gemeinsam als DJ & Produzenten Duo durch dick und dünn. Bereits vor dieser Zeit waren sie schon seit einigen Jahren freundschaftlich miteinander verbunden und zogen in dieser Zeit gemeinsam durch die Partylandschaft. Dabei war ihr musikalischer Weg bis dato etwas unterschiedlicher Natur. Während sich Raddantze schon etliche Jahre dem Produzieren verschrieben hatte, war sein Kollege Landhouse seit jeher als leidenschaftlicher Vinyl-DJ bekannt. Beiden liegt das musizieren quasi in den Genen, denn sie stammen aus Musikerfamilien und wurden so schon sehr früh mit dem Musik-Virus infiziert. Schließlich haben sie bei einem ihrer gemeinsamen nächtlichen Ausflüge beschlossen ihre Liebe und Power für die elektronische Musik zu bündeln - Gott sei Dank möchte man fast sagen.

Ihr musikalisches Zuhause fanden die beiden Karlsruher in dem Netlabel Seaside Trip mit ihrer gleichnamigen Podcastreihe, wo ihr Captain Rolandson eisern das Steuer führt. Ihre Produktionen fanden bereits den Weg auf so klangvolle Labels wie Underyourskin Records, Serafin Audio Imprint, Black Hills Recordings und Wildfang Records und ihre Tracks werden von allen Größen der entschleunigten Szene gespielt, wie z.B. Mira, Unders, Monolink.

Für uns hat das Duo eine verträumte und zugleich verspielte Reise kreiert, welche uns Hörer sofort und unweigerlich in seinen Bann zieht - wahrlich zauberhaft. Dafür gebührt ihnen unser tiefempfunder Dank. Wir wünschen euch nun maximalste Unterhaltung mit unserer #124.

Leichtigkeit Des Seins - LDS 7.4

For this episode, we are delighted to present you an original mix created for us by that extraordinary producer known as El Búho. His ability to blend natural tones and traditional South American motifs with electronic beat grew along the past 9 years and is now renowned. The resulting music creates magical soundscapes, it feels like having a night walk in a forest, the air is filled with the buzz of the creatures swarming around, fireflies sparkle in the dark. Although El Búho’s acoustics are painted in vivid colours, this mix is inspired by Winter. It all begun on a cloudy day in one of those “hobbit-esque” villages in Northern England. You can imagine him sitting by the window, watching the clouds being pushed on by the wind, while the fire burns slow in the stove. There, the artist found inspiration and recorded many of the impressions that we can now listen to on this beautiful mix. The rain tapping on the ground, jackdaws cawing, crunchy leaves being caressed by the wind… Those organic sounds, so familiar and yet so ethereal, they free your mind and might let you fly to imaginary locations. They're able to evoke bygone memories or make us dream of new places to explore. From there, the mix develops along the Winter and welcomes the upcoming Spring. So now open your heart, feel this delicate sound touching it and unleash your imagination to let your mind travel to your own peaceful place.

The concept for this mix has been present with me for some time now and I finally felt like I had the right material to make it happen. It is very slow and spacious, builds throughout and then slows down at the end. This set is similar to my Heart Culture set because it is all woven together using the loops that come from the respective tracks rather than just mixing the pre-arranged tracks with each other. I created this mix in my final days of this most recent retreat of 2 months with the intention of channeling some of the energy I cultivated there. I have recently revisited the book "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle which had a major impact on me years ago when I first read it. Again it touched me deeply and so I have woven in some clips from the audio book.

All the tracks are remixes and so collaborations with various friends which also helps to bring in a nice variety of sounds and energies. A few of these are still unreleased and not in any of my other mixes - hope you enjoy them.

Mose - Reveries (Chill Out Live Set)

The rāga saga acts as a cultural collectiva of our favourite artists from all across, Each raga is an array of melodic structures with musical motifs, considered in the Indian tradition to have the ability to "color the mind" and affect the emotions of the audience and this journey (raga) comes from the shamanic lands of Costa Rica from one of my favourite artists @jose-solano 

He recorded this set for me, a while back but I wanted it to be a special release, so as something new has taken form...

Jose Solano is a musician, composer and producer born in San Jose Costa Rica in 1980, at the age of 16 he starts his first steps in music exploring with his first keyboards, he studies piano at Yamaha Music School with Professor Jesús Castro, he studies singing with the famous Soprano Amelia Barquero (Franco de Vita, Ricardo Montaner) I work as a keyboardist with the renowned soloist Esteban Calderón. He has shared the stage with important national and foreign artists such as the Spanish Rusian Red, the Colombian Fonseca, and the Mexicans Jessy and Joy.

The set was recorded on my show on Monday, the 11th at Four Seasons Costa Rica, the selection of my new songs on Lump Records and Bercana Music, and other songs from producers that I admire.

Mit unserer Nummer 162 reisen wir heute in den hohen Norden in das schöne Lübeck. Von hier kommt Philipp Hanslik und hat dort die letzten Jahre sein musikalisches Unwesen getrieben. Als wir den Termin ausgemacht haben meinte er schon das er gar nicht mehr so wirklich Lust auf Techno hat … und wir sind auf unsere beiderseitige Leidenschaft für Wave und Indie zu sprechen gekommen … was uns wieder sehr verbunden hat. Nun ein halbes Jahr später hat er das DJing an den Nagel gehängt. Aber ich konnte ihn trotzdem überzeugen den ausgemachten Termin für unseren Podcast war zunehmen.
 
Mit einem Bekannten zusammen hatten sie auch ein sehr feines Label … Nixx Neues. Über dies bin ich überhaupt auf Philipp gestoßen … da unser gemeinsamer Freund Niel White dort seine LP rausgebracht hat … naja auch Nixx ist für die Ewigkeit.

Somit haben diese Woche mal eine etwas andere Afterhour … mit einer Mischung aus Ambient, Indie und IDM … alles mit einer schon fast sommerlichen Note … passend zum Frühling. Philipp tausend Dank das zu dich nochmal an die Plattenteller geschmissen hast für uns … hat sich definitiv gelohnt … tolles stimmungsvolles Tape wie ich finde. Und nun wünsch ich unseren Hörern mal wieder viel Spaß mit unserem Podcast und ein tolles Weekend und eine bezaubernde Afterhour.
