John von Seggern is best known as an ambient producer, as well as being one-half of darkwave duo Liminal Shade with Honduran singer Mar Boreal.

From 2014-2020 he worked closely with legendary electronic music pioneer Jon Hassell, culminating in the release of two acclaimed albums: Listening to Pictures (2018) and Seeing Through Sound (2020).

John von has had a wildly varied career as a musician and producer. He has played bass at venues around the world with some of the biggest Asian pop artists, DJed techno across China and US, and contributed sound design and effects for the Oscar-winning Pixar feature Wall-E and other films.

Filmmaker, experienced in travel, adventure and wildlife reporting. 

- Since 1995 he has worked on several TV series and multimedia productions covering such subjects as anthropology, culture and adventure with Fluid Video Crew. 

-Since 1999 he has co-operated as Director of Photography for such programs as "Stella del Sud", "Alle Falde del Kilimangiaro" and "Geo & Geo" for the Italian National Public Broadcaster RAI.
