The Elovaters DOUBLE VISION EP, released May 29, 2020, is their second collaboration with A-list producer Danny Kalb and the followup to their 2018 album, Defy Gravity (Rootfire Cooperative) which debuted at #1 in the Billboard Reggae chart and was voted people’s choice Album Of The Year by Surf Roots TV & Radio. The new EP Double Vision features guest collaborations from some of the band’s heroes, Bret Bollinger of Pepper, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Daniel DeLacruz and Andy Geib (Slightly Stoopid), and Billy Kottage (The Interrupters, Reel Big Fish). 

This five-song collection is a taste of the band’s burgeoning sound which showcases the soaring voice of singer/songwriter Jackson Wetherbee, along with John Alves (lead guitar), Nick Asta (drums), Matt Link (bass), Derrick Cabral (percussion), and Greg Nectow (keys). Recorded at The Noise Floor (Dover, NH) the EP introduces hints of R&B in songs like “Nostalgia,” warm harmonies in “Won’t Be The Last Time,” and a fan favorite called “Poison Cup,” which the band has performed for years but never recorded. The first single “Fast And Slow” was released in March 2020 and quickly added to regular rotation on SiriusXM’s No Shoes Radio, curated by country music star Kenny Chesney.

One of the fastest-growing bands in the American reggae scene, 2018 and 2019 saw The Elovaters perform at marquee events such as Cali Roots, Levitate Music Festival, Reggae Rise Up Florida and Utah, One Love Cali Reggae Fest. Their hometown shows in Boston have sold out months in advance and they’ve sold out club shows in San Diego, Phoenix, Denver, Orlando and more. Their song “Boston” was played during the Red Sox World Series Parade, and “People Go” was featured in CBS’s Hawaii Five-0.

With almost 30 years in the Electronic music industry, Vince Watson has released over 1000 songs including 250 EP’s, including 15 albums and 75 remixes, and his hard work has been rewarded with recordings for some of the very best electronic music labels like Cocoon, Planet E, Yoruba, Poker Flat, BBE and Transmat as well as running his own Everysoul label.  His skillsets have allowed him to work with some of the very best electronic artists including Laurent Garnier, Joe Claussell, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Carl Craig, Osunlade, Steve Bug & Josh Wink and as a touring musician has been able to play at some of the worlds best clubs and events including Enter at Space, Ibiza, Berghain Berlin, Womb Tokyo and many events in The Netherlands. 
His radio show ‘Radio Drama’ has featured top guest from the electronic music world each month. Some examples include Ben Sims, Truncate, Manoo, Fred P, Steve Bug, Osunlade and many more.

Late 2020 Vince released an LP for The Outlaw Oceans music project entitled ‘Hope’, which was commissioned by the New York Times investigative journalist Ian Urbina and is now in production for Netflix as a documentary series.

Vince’s live shows are in demand around the world, performing in summer 2022 for Carl Cox’s birthday at DC10 Ibiza and as a former Tresor Berlin resident, his DJ sets are also now highly requested with appearances in clubs such as Berghain and Womb. Vince is currently resident of 909 Festival in Amsterdam. He debuted at Berlin’s HoR late 2022.

His sets can be heard in many headline podcasts series, where he has featured in podcasts from Carl Cox, John Digweed, Dave Clarke, Luciano, DJ Mag, Electronic Beats and Resident Advisor.

His 2021 His 18 track Detroit Techno LP ‘DnA’ was ‘[re]Sequenced’ by some of his favourite artists from the genre, including Carl Craig, John Beltran, Claude Young, Jon Dixon, Shawn Rudiman, Steve Rachmad, Stephen Lopkin and Stephen Brown.

Vince also debuted a new techno live project called Amorphic which launched with releases on Modularz, Symbolism and Token as well as a self-titled label, now 3 Ep’s deep.

As well as his ‘normal’ touring schedule and studio commitments, Vince’s experience and knowledge is also being put to use by Conservatorium van Amsterdam where Vince is working as a Senior Degree Lecturer for AEMA, the CvA’s new Electronic music school, where he teaches DJ classes, Production classes and Remix classes.

A lot of people love music. A lot of musicians love music, despite it being their job. After all, how many bin men love black bags? How many salesmen love their target? For musicians, work means another day in the studio, another set of A&R men to make happy, another day knowing you‘ve sold your soul for a strapon! Working in music is poisonous. Yet a lot of musicians love music anyway.
