Taking the reins for the second edition are our co-founders and resident chuggers, Dar & Holten. They met a few years ago and immediately bonded over the love of the slower, weirder side of things, a mutual appreciation shared by Feargal got us all together and the rest is history.  

The lads sat down and recorded this one on the fly a few months ago, the only focus was to share some of the tunes they’ve both been feeling lately. The mix features labels and artists such as Optimo Music, Witness Protection Programme, Andrew Weatherall, Manfredas, Sound Metaphors and many more that have helped to inform and shape their musical tastes. Recorded in a small village on the Costa Brava – surrounded by seagulls, tramontana winds, and sea urchin-covered rocks – this mix comes from the laid-back Barcelona neighbourhood of Gràcia, where Parisian-born Antoine Harispuru, better known as Golden Bug, has made his home.

With a career spanning over fifteen years, Golden Bug has become known for his unique signature: drum machines in a haze of smoke, chopped-up sounds with a machete edge, drenched in delay – a raw, kaleidoscopic patchwork of electronica, dub, and psychedelia.

His work has graced  labels including La Belle Records (his own imprint), Les Disques de la Mort, Höga Nord, Gomma, Multi Culti, and Kompakt. This mix hits as the anniversary edition of Piscolabis II, where Golden Bug teams up once again with artists from around the world to craft a new series of aural excursions. From digital reggae to cinematic electronica with Londoner Simone Butler (of Primal Scream) and Brazilian artist Max Blum, to mutant disco with Franco-Italian musician Kim Giani, via slow-burning, incandescent techno led by the captivating voice of Greek singer Scarlett O’Hanna, and krautrock infused with dub in collaboration with London-based Phoebe Coco. These six tracks offer a bold and refreshing reinterpretation of the original album: a rich, textured sonic journey shaped by diverse and unexpected influences.


 
Among the selections, you’ll find current favouites like SAVE’s Rainy Monday — a digital dub gem from Marc Nguyen’s project on Ivan Smagghe’s Les Disques de la Mort, alongside recent discoveries like Blotter Trax’s Superconductor on Optimo.

"This mix reflects the kind of energy we try to channel through Paradia: cosmic grooves, deep chug, leftfield rhythms, and a journey that drifts between downtempo and dancefloor. It's built around a steady, heady energy with tracks that keep momentum without big peaks or obvious drops. I'd say it's more about subtle shifts and hypnotic builds rather than hands-in-the-air moments, leaning on slow-burners and deeper cuts that open up over time. I recorded it at home in Delhi on a rainy monsoon Sunday, and the weather definitely set the tone: steady rain outside, heavy air, and that influenced the pacing and selections. The name of the mix comes from a track on our upcoming Paradia EP, tying it back to what we’re building with the label."

Daniel "Blackbelt" Anderson has been a noted figure in the Norwegian dance community since the early 90's. A producer/composer of note, he released his early production efforts on Restructured recordings and Prin Thomas' first label Tamburin. As the decade progressed he began dj'ing more in Norway and building his skills, subsequently releasing music on Full Pupp (2 lps!), Claremont 56, and Trailerpark. He has numerous remixes on labels like Diskomo, Solar Disco, Zimmer and Grand Blanc records. A cool cat who has been spending time working on new material, we are happy that he dropped this mix for us.

Clouded Vision is the clear minded platform to showcase the musical talent that has caught London DJ and producer, Matt Walsh’s sights.

Matt Walsh’s inter­est in DJing and pro­duc­tion was fos­tered in the late 1990′s, while he was at uni­ver­si­ty and pro­gres­sive house was at its peak. Fast-for­ward a cou­ple of years, a new decade her­ald­ed the birth of Elec­tro­clash and with it DJ Hell’s Gigo­lo Records, City Rock­ers and Play­house. As Matt began to devel­op his trade­mark sound of mod­ern dis­co-infused elec­tron­ic house and tech­no, an offer of a res­i­den­cy at East London’s sem­i­nal T‑Bar club set off a chain of events that would lead to Tur­bo Record­ings don Tiga spot­ting him there in 2007. He then became a long term res­i­dent of Bugged Out! and Tur­bo and has since toured the globe alone and with oth­er artists.

Matt’s record label, Cloud­ed Vision Record­ings has seen releas­es from tal­ent from all cor­ners, includ­ing Red Axes, long term friend Daniel Avery and many more. His two mixed com­pi­la­tions “The Cloud­ed Vision Exper­i­ment” received crit­i­cal acclaim from Mix­mag, GQ and DJ Mag.

Since relo­cat­ing to Mar­gate in 2017, Matt has been busy opening The Tap Room and has trans­formed one of Margate’s secret spots into a boom­ing small bar, where you can expect to see local and trav­el­ling DJs play­ing every week, as well as a great mix of cock­tails and craft beer.



In 2023 Matt reignited his old clubnight "Movement" which was originally formed with Daniel Avery back in 2011. The new version is held quarterly at Faith In Strangers, Margate and the first three sold out parties have seen Erol Alkan, Daniel Avery , Optimo and Richard Fearless join Matt on the decks for the night. August will welcome Manfredas to Margate for the first time and some very exciting collaborations are to follow in 2025.
