DJ HISTORY: "Murf’s journey began in 1983, immersed in early Electronic sounds and Electro - Often described by peers as the Yoda of Techno, Murf brings a wise, measured approach to his craft – deeply rooted in the foundations of Electronic music. Murf’s reputation was built through appearances at seminal venues and events including Glastonbury Festival, Kerfuffle, Final Frontier, Club UK, Tresor, Berlin, Global Ark, Japan, Compufunk in Osaka, and standout gigs in Tokyo, as well as Headroom at Alphabet in Brighton - Notably, he delivered a series of legendary 4-hour sets at Subterrain, The End, London".

INSPIRATION: "I tried to include a few trax peeps will know, and several lesser known bits from well known artists….I let some trax play for most of their duration, ‘coz you don’t hear ‘em out (in full) often, and it just felt right during the session..  I just went with the flow innit!"

This mix is my tribute to Synewave Records, the legendary New York techno label that has been shaping underground sounds since the mid-'90s. I’ve dived deep into their discography, exploring the acid-driven grooves, hypnotic rhythms, and timeless tracks that made Synewave a techno beacon.

It’s a journey through the past, celebrating the label’s history, but also a glimpse into the future—an ode to how those sounds still inspire and evolve today. Whether you’ve been following Synewave from the start or are just discovering it, this mix is for anyone who loves raw, honest, and forward-thinking techno.

Synewave Tribute Mix

Adam grew up in the UK’s vibrant rave culture of the 90’s where his passion for records and club music first took hold. Now a fixture in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, his kaleidoscopic cocktail of Mutant Disco, haunting Cosmic and explosive synthesised sonics can be heard at the finest dancing establishments in the city and beyond. 

The musical ethos of Adam Purnell walks in perfect tandem with PDA and we’ve had the pleasure of hearing him plumb the depths of his musical knowledge to our discerning audience and we are looking forward to making it happen again soon - please tune in to this recording and get an auditory glimpse of what the man is capable of ⚡️

Stratowerx & Matt Walsh - No Function (Scott Fraser Surface Pressure Remix)

Matt Walsh’s inter­est in DJing and pro­duc­tion was fos­tered in the late 1990′s, while he was at uni­ver­si­ty and pro­gres­sive house was at its peak. Fast-for­ward a cou­ple of years, a new decade her­ald­ed the birth of Elec­tro­clash and with it DJ Hell’s Gigo­lo Records, City Rock­ers and Play­house. As Matt began to devel­op his trade­mark sound of mod­ern dis­co-infused elec­tron­ic house and tech­no, an offer of a res­i­den­cy at East London’s sem­i­nal T‑Bar club set off a chain of events that would lead to Tur­bo Record­ings don Tiga spot­ting him there in 2007. He then became a long term res­i­dent of Bugged Out! and Tur­bo and has since toured the globe alone and with oth­er artists.

Matt’s record label, Cloud­ed Vision Record­ings has seen releas­es from tal­ent from all cor­ners, includ­ing Red Axes, long term friend Daniel Avery and many more. His two mixed com­pi­la­tions “The Cloud­ed Vision Exper­i­ment” received crit­i­cal acclaim from Mix­mag, GQ and DJ Mag.

Since relo­cat­ing to Mar­gate in 2017, Matt has been busy opening The Tap Room and has trans­formed one of Margate’s secret spots into a boom­ing small bar, where you can expect to see local and trav­el­ling DJs play­ing every week, as well as a great mix of cock­tails and craft beer.



In 2023 Matt reignited his old clubnight "Movement" which was originally formed with Daniel Avery back in 2011. The new version is held quarterly at Faith In Strangers, Margate and the first three sold out parties have seen Erol Alkan, Daniel Avery , Optimo and Richard Fearless join Matt on the decks for the night. August will welcome Manfredas to Margate for the first time and some very exciting collaborations are to follow in 2025.
