Underground hero Bill Converse returns to Dark Entries with Take Parts, perhaps his most muscular and floorfocused work to date. Converse has honed his analog craft since the early days of the Midwest rave scene, absorbing lessons from luminaries like Claude Young and Traxx. His skill as a producer has been established with releases on labels such as Dark Entries, Fit Sound, and Obsolete Futures, and his prowess as a DJ has been witnessed on floors the world over. On Take Parts, Converse peels away the layers of acidic gauze that have characterized much of his work, revealing his sharp grasp of dancefloor dynamics and DJ functionality. While the 808’s, 909’s, and 303’s are on full display, Converse does not indulge in retro-fetishism; he channels the future forward impulse of the originary rave ethos. Tracks like “Stroke” and “What You Have” pit seasick chords and analog squelch atop funky but unsettling loops. The flurry of 808 snares on “Measurement (Of What?)” nods towards both footwork and jungle, but feels ultimately planted in a world of Converse’s own. With the acid-electro masterpiece “Take Apart”, Converse implores us to both join him in this new world and reconfigure the one we’re living in now. The 6-tracks on Take Parts present a new focus for Converse, and will excite DJ’s and thrill dancers.

The collaboration continues between Simona Faraone's label, New Interplanetary Melodies, and Gianluca Pernafelli from the Roman art collective Kuro Jam, which has given birth to Kimera Mendax 1 (2020) and Kimera Mendax 2 (2021), two compilations of experimental electronic music with Techno/Electro/Ambient sounds that served as soundtrack to the sci-fi comic book saga of the same name, both released in limited editions on vinyl, with two carefully curated graphic designs by the skilful hands of Kuro's artists.
Starting next 9 December, both works will also be available in digital version, on all major platforms and label's bandcamp page, with the addition of a bonus track, Rising Tide, 10 minutes of pure electro of Drexciyan elegance, signed by Roman producer T/ERROR, anticipating the next co-production between New Interplanetary Melodies and Kuro Jam Recordings (NIMKuroJam003), Data Surfer, an EP of 6 tracks + 3 bonus digital tracks, made by the artist himself, scheduled for next year.

About Kimera Mendax graphic novel :
Kimera Mendax is the title of the debut graphic novel (2017)  of the team Kuro Jam, composed by the artists Enrico Carnevale (Inkiostro, Markosia), Mattia De Iulis (Marvel), Giulia D'Ottavi (Manfont), Stefano Garau (Editions Glénat, Mondadori), and by the screenwriter Gianluca Pernafelli. The comic tells the story of a group of rebels who, from the underground of an esoteric Rome of the future (2048), struggle to neutralize the KX bio-operative system, a sort of invasive and all-encompassing social network, to which humanity is connected through robotic appendages. Vinyl records are the instrument of struggle for the “disconnected”: they try using music to awaken the natural human vibrations, atrophied by the massive use of technology. The final battle is a spectacular and liberating “sonic tsunami” in the heart of the Eternal City, a journey for the eyes... and the ears!

Hambourg’s electro duo Fallbeil composed by Wosto and Kluentah, is still pretty unknown despite they’ve been releasing a bunch of EP and a couple of LP on label like Mannequin, Killekill sub-label Boidae or New York Haunted and more recently on their own label Teerpappe to name a few. Wosto, long time Macadam Mambo’s collaborater (Danzas Electricas vol. 2 & 3), sent us demos of what sounds very like « what Drexciya would realease on Bunker Records », a compilation of irresistible dark atmospheres slow electro tunes with very raw textures, complemented by few little skits to generate a brilliant album around the story of the Mockturtle. It’s rought as it should be!

Le Matin
Coming from experimental hardcore techno in the 2000s, producer Charles Torris is now expressing his strange vision of the world through blends of electro, disco and wave styles, with vinyl and cassette publications by various labels (Mathematics, Dekmantel, Third Type Tapes, Lost Dogs Entertainment) and live performances (Astropolis, Maintenant, Serendip, Mechatronica). He's also active as a digital artist and game programer in Rennes, France, where he lives now.

Parallel Planet
The two long time friends Grammar of Movement and ECXO are finally teaming up as Parallel Planet on the split EP Mixtus Orbis with Le Matin via Maturre Records. Based on their music, it's easy to hear the high collaborative energy the two producers have when they're in the studio together.
These two Aarhus born producers are very inspired by the roots of detroit electro sound and have achieved their own groovy, pacy and trippy sound universe with the blend of soft analogue and edgy digital synthesizers. Two tracks for the dancefloor and one for the mind.

On 26 February, hundreds of Israeli settlers went on a violent late-night rampage in Huwara and other villages in the northern West Bank, leaving one local resident dead and 100 others injured and the town ablaze.

This compilation of music was put together in order to raise funds that can hopefully give some aid to the residents of Huwara, all of the proceeds Confused Machines make from digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il An NGO that works in the occupied Palestinian territory, promoting Palestinians' right to health and providing direct medical and humanitarian assistance.

The compilation hosts a roster of both local and international artists spanning a wide spectrum of leftfield electronic music. Acid, Drone, Noise, Downtempo, Techno, SoundCollage and more.
All of these tracks are new and have not been heard before, many of them have been created with Huwara and Palestine in mind.

Though we know our reach is limited, we see this as a part of a bigger political effort to help raise awareness in our artistic circles and set motion to positive forces in dark times.

SBLS and GH-1S on the A-side make up for a heavy West Coast and electro journey. The remix of GH-1S by Beau Wanzer is also not to be missed, with his signature touch and a nauseating bassline. Flip the record to the B-side for two mind-bending acid cuts; Ladies Jam is a heavily distorted and mechanic track with eerie leads that will drag you through acid punches, while Betonsmeer offers a slowed-down bunker-style cruise with earworming acid and heavy percussion.

The 180 grams record comes with an extra artwork by Jorge Velez pressed on elephant grass paper. Tip!

Since 2017 Beat & Path have been hollowing out a niche for their particular style of vaudevillian house music. This sixth anniversary release centres the figures who've been with the label since the start – founding members Uone and Out of Sorts (Hayden and Barton Strom), as well as festival staple and label stalwart Caly Jandro. Where its predecessor was a wide-ranging affair perfect for kick-ons, "Camp Out 002" zooms in on the quintessential Beat & Path sound: thick, restrained basslines; low-tempo percussion outmatching the energy of much faster tracks; cheeky samples from unlikely sources; and that perennial cosmic wink that permeates the back catalogue. To quote Oscar Wilde, "Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about."

Approaching the label's midpoint, there's a broken-beat take from the vault – Uone's fresh take on one of the label's classics. The original was a four-on-the-floor chart-topper peppered with euphoric pianos, delicately incorporating samples from the track's namesake, Malian musician Rokia Traoré. In his 'Goodwill' remix, Uone bends Caly Jandro's source material to match this compilation's tempo and understated dynamism. Meanwhile, the remix's title is a respectful nod to Rokia's eclectic musicianship and refugee advocacy (both of which culminated in her nomination as Goodwill Ambassador for West and Central Africa).
